Like oh what, the villain is a little sarcastic? get over it. he was still plenty menacing.

I have a theory tbh

See, every MCU film after Thor 2 has basically been a slam dunk:

2.2Thor: The Dark World (2013)
2.3Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
2.4Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
2.5Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
2.6Ant-Man (2015)
3Phase Three
3.1Captain America: Civil War (2016)
3.2Doctor Strange (2016)
3.3Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)
3.4Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
3.5Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
3.6Black Panther (2018)
3.7Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

I think people get worried about sounding too fanboyish by saying "holy shit every marvel movie in the last four years has been incredible." So they need to find one that they can nitpick just a tiny bit so they don't go into conversations with glowing reviews of everything (because let's be real, look at those titles after Thor 2. Name one dud).

Thots?

Mostly because the trailers were misleading. They showed him as scary and very competent.

Also, a lot of the movie was set up for future films. It's one of the reasons why Whedon had such a hard time making the film. He was forced by execs to add in all sorts of scenes, like Thor in the lake.

It's good. It's just too similar to the first Avengers.

the story was setting up something that was very hard to see at the time. a lot of it seemed pointless and underwhelming because it was just a small event that was pointing to a much larger one. same problem that movies like thor 2 and gotg 2 faced.

seeing it again after infinity war made me appreciate it so much more. everything finally makes sense, motivations are clearer, and it's really not a terrible use of the avengers and new recruits. also having a villain with a personality that isn't a mad scientist was refreshing.

It's the internet, stupid people think that hating on something popular makes them sound intelligent. Being a hater irl means you'll have no friends, so they're forced to come to the internet for all their socializing. That's why there's so many shitty people who always have negative shit to say about everything. I'm a generally happy person so I'm more likely to look for the good in things and I've been entertained by all of the MCU movies you've mentioned.

Age of Ultron was good. Maybe not as good as the first one, but it's still good. I can't speak for why others dislike it, but it was a kind of retread of the first with a slightly different setting and story.

That said, Infinity War destroys both Avengers movies.
