Then Nosferatu showed up and completely spanked me. My Lord it was brutal. It wasn't so bad after I optimized my accessories to defend against sleep but still not an easy battle

Did you not have trouble against the ice dragon in the old schoolhouse then? The Nosferatu can be tough if you get unlucky, but I remember that one being particularly hard.

That's why playing on Nightmare is the best way to go!

Actually i think i was abusing the turn delay stuff by then. But yeah the game is set up for nightmare tbh. Some of the buff moves your party get are op.

I think the Ice Dragon got me once or twice but I think that was the fight where I spread out my team to avoid his AoE attacks and then he wasn't so bad

Teams were the same in the intro as they are when you caught up, just with Millium with Rean and Crow with Team B. They weren't present in the intro version, only the original Class VII + Sara was.

Gotta be one of the best openings to a game. The music that plays as well is excellent.

Is there any reason to do social events after you max out the link level? Other than seeing the scene of course

Non other than the reason you mentioned.

Near the end of the game you'll get a choice to pick one of them and getting that person to trigger as a choice has 2 requirements. Being link level 5 is one of the absolute requirements(for most of them). The other requirement is 'meeting at least 1 of 3 other different requirements' and seeing their event in chapter 6 is one of those 3 so it's not entirely pointless.

So basically even if a character is link level 5, if they don't meet any of the 3 other requirements they won't appear as a choice in the end so keep that in mind.

Yeah Sharon's voice goes through me. Towa is really cool as well. She's got that 'i must protect her at all costs' vibe going for her. Also a shoutout to Vivi. She's one of the best NPCs.

What a way for the terrorists to go down, so anti-climactic! I assume we haven't seen the last of them though

Oh before you go on, there is a canon drama CD that has cut content that takes place between Chapter 6 and 7. I know you're not planning on playing CS2 right away after this, but it does get brought up as if it happened in CS2 so you should probably get ahold of it! It's about the trip to Ymir Class VII takes together that is briefly mentioned from the beginning of the Final Chapter. It was planned to be a playable event in the game but was cut due to budget reasons.

It says to finish CS1 before reading it there but I'm 100% sure there are no spoilers for the final chapter in it. Just don't poke around the rest of the site. You might have ways to get the actual Japanese version of the Drama CD though, I dunno, but be careful if you do that as well that you don't get spoilers for the end.

EDIT: You could also just play it safe and wait until finishing CS1 to do it, there's nothing relevant for the Final Chapter here. It's just relevant for CS2 because it gets referred to.

There's also a little mini-manga somewhere about how Rean and Alisa ended up wearing matching single gloves (or as some people call them, the shipping gloves) on different hands in their summer uniforms :p

I listened to the drama cd on youtube with some guy voicing it. Couldn't be bothered reading it so had it on in the background.

I actually didn't know the Drama CD existed at first when I played CS2 and I got like 15 hours into the game and was like "What is everyone talking about??? Did I just like have a stroke and am missing a portion of CS1 in my brain?" for awhile until I googled it.
