I'm working on rolling out 802.1x at work so that computers have to authenticate on our network in order to access internal resources. I'm trying to actually implement it while certain people are away from their desks...

So I noticed a certain user in IT was away from his desk, so I started entering the settings on his network port. I shut his port down so that his phone would turn off, and I got up to look at the display on his phone to 100% verify that I was changing settings on his port.

While I got up, my boss asked me if I knew where another guy was. I didn't hear him AT ALL. He was maybe about 10 feet away from me, lol. I noticed that him and the IT director started laughing at me because they just saw me looking over at the general direction of where the guy sits and thinking I was looking for him, lol.

That's when I realized he was trying to ask me something. Pretty wild, lol. I was focused AF.
