I'm currently rewatching Ouran after having finished a rewatch of One Punch Man.

Oh yeah, to continue where we left off, I'm excited to see Vinland Saga get an anime, since I've heard it's name being talked about for years and years.

I'm here. Koi Ame, or After the Rain was very enjoyable. Highly recommend. Though, it might not be fit for everyone. strong romance plot for the first half, but then it switches gears to like a SoL/drama to do well done character development. If you're on board only for the romance, I guess it will feel like a bait and switch. Regardless, I found the two main characters unique, refreshing and interesting.

I'm planning on watching Sora yori next.

Finally finished Persona 3 Portable with the male MC.

Didn't bother fighting the hidden boss because fuck that shit and her bullshit instant death counters.

Might go back and go through with the female MC someday. It'll definitely be easier since I'll have my uber gear and persona from the start.

For now, I'll try to go back and play Growlanser properly. I kinda stopped just past the first chapter.

Hello hello everyone. Just finished my viewing of The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya after finishing my rewatch of season 1 and first viewing of season 2. I really enjoyed the movie.

I was captivated and eventually satisfied. A long movie, the longest anime movie I've seen I am fairly certain, running at 2 hours and 40 minutes. But it was worth it and now I'm sitting here just soaking in the post movie/series syndrome. I only have 2 outlets to mention it and no one I know irl has seen it.

Kiss x Sis is just the best.

I'm in a manga slump right now. I like to download rather than just read online, and all the manga apps are going downhill again. Manga+ has been spotty for years, MangaReader was good for downloading, but with the latest version I can't even find the app's folder directory to locate the files.

The movie is the reason why season 2 has the endless eight, because they wanted to give that story arc the proper production values.

On that topic I watched all 8 episodes and enjoyed rewatching and seeing the difference in shot composition and clothing and such. It got a bit more tough at around episode 5 or 6 though. I would have been a lot less okay with it if I was watching as it aired. Now that I've experienced it I'd recommend only watching episodes 1, 2, one in the middle (maybe 5, can't remember the one that was the best), and the last one. Reason being a spoiler.

The resolution is just not worth the build up of 8 episodes imo. With each episode the hype for a more climactic resolution built up. I'm fine with the homework and figured that out somewhat sooner, but 8 episodes is just too much haha

I cheated endless eight a little, I watched two episodes at a time except for the first and last one.

There was some guy who made a website that generated an endless 8 episode for you by splicing/selecting a respective scene from a random episode. If any math wizz wants to figure out how many permutations there are, there are 13 scenes in an episode. It's defunct now.

Growlanser is a good series (as is Langrisser, its predecessor), IMO, though the truncated nature of the U.S. release makes it feel a little complete, since we got 2, 3, 4 (Wayfarer), and 5, but neither the original nor 6.

It was really fun making sense of everything because the narrative is presented in a way as if you knew everything (even though it's a farce; there's no way for you to currently have the know-how and the narrative actually knows that) and deliberately presents context later for you to use and understand.

Garbage, don't read, not actually spoilers, but I didn't have the heart to delete it.It's a series approximately 2 regular TV seasons in length. It's partitioned into 7 movies/arcs. It's a non-chronological story, primarily a thriller. It is tangentially part of the fate series without being consumed by the fate bullshit. It deals mostly with fate series magic in an urban setting.

It's primarily concerned with the development of our two main characters. There's a lot of intrigue in an arcs mystery/thriller, and the overall picture.

FUCK I'm so bad at selling my favorite series. I don't know what details are worthwhile because I find it all worthwhile.

BASICALLY, it's confusing as fuck because like I've said. It's a non-chronological story and a thriller. Every story arc begins and concludes with you asking yourself a ton of questions about everything, getting it mostly answered, and have more questions to ask. Repeat. And I loved it.

Also, beautiful soundtrack by Yuki Kajiura, and wonderful animation by ufotable (basically put them on the map).

That's how I've gotten into a lot of shows, particularly stuff on tv. Honestly, the early episodes of any long-running show (and even shorter ones) tend to be garbage.

Kore ga Watashi no Goshujinsama is slapstick type humor, which I wasn't really looking for. 7 eps until I'm free. Always a gamble when you look up recs that are similar to another show. Was hoping for something like Ouran, with about as much seriousness, but this show doesn't. Oh well, at least it's short enough. There were some other shows I was looking at, but they're quite a bit longer. Maybe I should've gone with one of them instead.

Found out there's a patch to restore the dub in Growlanser 4.

The catch is, the cutscenes don't have subtitles, and I don't speak japanese.

Anybody else used this patch before? What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking I should just go ahead and patch it in, and just watch the cutscenes on youtube or something.

I didn't mention it before but I just got done watching all 4 seasons of Jojo, overall I'd say it was pretty good but I do feel like Stardust crusaders was- up until the last 10-ish episodes of the second season- a low point in general. I do think that Diamond is unbreakable turned out to be better than I was expecting and the stands were more fleshed out and interesting imo

I'm kinda out of the loop lately. Was watching DxD Hero and new season of Nanatsu no Taizai, but I'm a few episodes behind (still mad at DxD for skipping one of my favourite parts of the story in season 3). I was catching up to some stuff I missed earlier this year, such as Gossick (which was surprisingly awesome), Akatsuki no Yona and Black Butler - still need to watch Book of Murder and Book of Atlantis (was that the name?) - but also stopped. I guess my hype for season 3 of To Aru Majutsu no Index is blocking every other anime off my mind, and that thing won't be released anytime soon. The next LN will be out in a few days, at least.

I actually quite agree with you, Stardust Crusaders was kind of the low point of the show for me as well, though I still need to finish S4, currently up to episode 9 or 10.

Y'all weird. Stardust Crusaders was legit, especially the second half. There's a reason why it got the first anime adaptation. I think the D'arby brothers were my favorite episodes of jojo.

Usually when I'm deciding who I want to get an autograph from at the upcoming anime convention, I'm reminded that I don't typically keep up with the latest and hottest shows when I look at an actor's bio and don't see anything I'm personally familiar with. But this year that's not the case at all. There's Morgana (Persona 5) and Edea Lee (Bravely Default), Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho), Whis (Dragon Ball Super), Ema Skye (Ace Attorney), and several more.

iirc, Eraserhead's powers don't work on quirks based around physical mutations/permanent physical changes, so maybe invisigirl's quirk is like that?

Hmm. I don't know what I'd do if I met my favorite voice actors at a con. I'd probably get tongue-tied, like I used to do at the horror movie cons. Yeah, celebrities are people, too, but I think I've got a deep-seated fear of opening my mouth and sounding like an idiot. (Props to George Takei, though. He was really cool when I met him as a kid.)

Just finished dragon maid. It was way more directly yuri than I expected which was fantastic. Great show. I'd definitely watch a second season although it did end on a pretty good spot.

EDIT: Also I've dropped stardust crusaders twice now. Definitely liked the first two parts better.

I'm now 10 episodes into megalo box and it really is all style no substance IMO. The style is there. it's good, it makes everything feel great, but nothing ever happens. All the fights are really disappointing and the same storyline plays out with the main cast over and over (omg they can't fight, they're doomed, but maybe with this latch ditch desperate attempt, they can make something happen. Every single time.).

I find the show less compelling cause it can only end 2 ways. One way would be awful and make the whole show garbage and the other way by default is incredibly predictable. I hope at least animation wise the final fight is good.

I'm also up to date on GGO and after the recap episode the animation seems to have taken a turn for the better. Some of the action we got in SJ 2 has actually been really cool. I still say LLENN is actually even more OP than kirito ever was but everyone gives her a pass because she is cute anime grill.

The pacing in the Persona 5 anime is driving me nuts. It feels like A-1 Pictures is going to stop and do every single fan service event in the game. Approaching the end of the first cour, and the Phantom Thieves are only starting the third Palace. Unless the series does a bunch of asspulls, there is no way it is going to be able to do all eight Palaces without being a complete mess. ... That, or it will stop at the 'good' ending and leave the 'true' ending for OAVs or something.
