I'm not the host but this was actually discussed in the main topic and the overwhelming consensus was that ranking every season should be mandatory.

Well, averages would be harder to calculate if each season got a different number of total votes. If ranking only 20 was required and five people ranked a different set of 20 (in addition to a dozen normal ballots)... it would create a lot of inconsistent totals and that could be confusing.

Rank those two last? There's nothing wrong with that given how terrible they both are. Do South Pacific in 36th because that's where it belongs.

That's cheating.

And generally why when ranking movie series we have begun to require write-ups on all films, because there was no other way to prove that we actually watched all the movies, and some speculation actually arose that people were not being completely honest about it.

i also haven't finished MvGX & GI but i could definitely power through those, especially since i've seen like almost half of both seasons.

the thought of sitting through SoPa and Caramoan for hours is actually agonizing though. so yea i'm probably never going to watch those. premieres of those were enough for me.

I don't see it as cheating if it's just two seasons where the consensus is that they're awful and that Kate is being honest about having not seen them because of that consensus.

Caramoan gets good for four episodes but the rest is trash.
South Pacific is the only season that doesn't have a single good episode.

I agonize over the thought of rewatching either. I feel ya.

It still compromises the results, regardless of how small.

If someone had seen 34 seasons and were missing, say, Pearl Islands and HvV and was too busy to speed through them before the deadline, then we'd have to let them enter and just put them at 35 and 36 as well, and I think there'd be some people going "Hold up, bro!"

The episode Brandon gives up immunity is quite good! Not so much cause he gives it up, but the setup of doing what's 'right' vs. doing what's 'smart' is well-executed.

I found a new appreciation for it after spending a long while writing about his move for one of my videos.
