looking it up apparently you have to answer the questions at the end in a certain way to unlock the secret ending and I didn't answer them correctly so I guess I'll have to beat it as Riku again or something

or I could just watch a YouTube video of it

yeah knowing you have a time limit before the game forces you to switch is kinda lame but there are ways to slow down the timer

Okay, I wasn't sure how much of Riku's boss rush at the end of The World That Never Was I would have to repeat because I didn't remember at what point you got to save, but it looks like I just have to repeat the last one, which is nice.

According to the KH Wiki, I also need to have unlocked 7 trophies to get the Secret Ending, but I've already got 6, so it shouldn't be too tough to get that last one.

Dropping is a total non issue to me. Play as long as you can as one, get bonuses that slow down your gauge or just use the items when you get enough munny.

To be fair, outside of boss fights there is no penalty for dropping a lot, and you can switch back immediately if you want.

Dream Drop Distance secret ending get

I guess I can talk about the last part of the game as a whole now since there was just so much going on. The World That Never Was is an awesome place. Best Reality Shift, too. Riku gets to have all the fun here with the boss rush against KH1 Ansem, a generic Organization robe Nightmare, Young Xehanort, and Nightmare Ventus. Sora only has to deal with Xemnas, but he gets some really touching moments by meeting Namine, Roxas, Xion, and the BBS trio (Well, he took Ven's form so he didn't really "meet" him, I guess).

The scene in the throne room was all kinds of awesome, with Lea saving the day at the last minute and throwing everything off. I guess this means we're going to have to beat 13 Xehanorts in KH3 or something? I wonder who they're going to get to replace Leonard Nimoy as old man Xehanort though. Riku diving back in to save Sora was cool, too. I liked the long chat he had with DiZ there at the end.

One of the things I really liked about DDD is they show that Sora isn't this child of destiny, which is a big deal in a series that harps so much on the subject. Xehanort in particular talks about it like crazy. He's not the guy the keyblade originally chose. He just ended up with it because of Riku's failure, among other things. Sora's just a dude with a big heart (big enough to fit like a million other hearts inside, apparently) and a magnetic personality. I think they really highlight this at the end by Yen Sid choosing Riku to be the next Keyblade Master, and Sora just doesn't even care. The dude's going to fix everything in the end (presumably; I can't imagine this series doesn't end happily), and he won't even be an official Keyblade Master.

Secret ending is cool. So Kairi is going to be a Guardian of Light and a Princess of Heart at the same time? She's going to be protecting her own light, I guess.

I like them all in their own ways though, even coded. I guess I'll start on the other parts of 2.8 later tonight.

I liked Back Cover. And yeah, I get the feeling only the stuff shown in the movie will matter in KH3. Not the rest of the Chi stuff. People saw Marluxia appearing in 3 and Chi and assumed it would be important, but with Larxene and Luxord also being back (and afaik they have no presence in Chi), I very much doubt it's related.
