I had one dog I got for free from a neighbor and a rabbit from a farmer but I never bought anything from a pet store, a grand or so for a puppy seems a bit much considering all you have to do to get one is wait until someones dog gets knocked up. Even my step moms huskies were mutts, she bought one, then he got to two years and banged a neighbors dog so she just bought 3 from them for a hundy and gave two away.

Yes, he was on clearance and he is an amazing dog and friend

I wouldnt support pet stores again though. Id much rather adopt a pet from a friend or a shelter.

4 out of 5 ferrets came from the pet store. 5th (well the second, really) came from someone who didn't have time to care for her anymore.. but she was originally from the pet store.

Yes, because you can't just get things like hamsters, iguanas, etc, from neighbors. I owned a rooster for a while but I can't recall if he was from a pet store or whether I just bought him from some guy at the mall. He was one mean son of a bitch, though, as he got older. Either my brother or a neighbor finally poisoned it, I think, by letting it out of its pen after an exterminator had sprayed.

Dunno about weasels, but ferrets make great pets. Playful, easy to care for, sleep a lot, so you don't have to feel bad about leaving them caged all day when you're off to work and whatnot. Oh, and they're quiet too, so they don't bother neighbors.

Reminded me of the time I was sitting on the couch watching tv and I saw something move out of the corner of my eye, I looked and there was a fucking Weasel standing in the kitchen staring at me, I was like "wtf?" and it bolted. Turned out there was a loose panel in one of the room closets that he got through, looked nice though, all white during the winter.

Not yet. My older dog I got while volunteering with the SPCA, which is why I dont volunteer too much. Because I might get another. Haha. My second was from a shelter. I would get certain things like birds, fish, etc. from pet stores. But thats because people arent usually giving them away...

I was just using weasel as a blanket term. An American Mink seems like it could be fun to have. Ferrets are great too, wanted some ever since I saw Beastmaster as a kid.

I've had ferrets for like 12 years. Up to 3 at a time. I only have one now though, doubt I'll get more than one at a time from now on.

There's some videos on youtube from a guy that uses mink to hunt rats. I found that to be pretty damn neat.

Nice ;) That's what they were domesticated for in the first place. I wouldn't trust my ferret to hunt anything though haha

Saw a different video of a guy using a ferret to scare out rabbits from their burrow into nets. But yeah, I wouldn't just trust my untrained pet to just start hunting out of nowhere either lol.

Just little stuff like a couple of rats, a guinea pig and some fish.

All of our cats have come from friends. Our dogs have come from breeders and the snake I had growing up came from the gutter in front of my house.

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/e1/26/72/e126725b38f3a8efecad65274bfdb427.jpg

I was playing out front one day and saw it slithering down the street in the gutter. It was barely the size of a pencil when I found it.

She'd be much more interested in exploring than hunting haha

Yea, I wore my parents down and got a hamster from a pet store when I was like 8. Surprisingly it actually lived a full life for a hamster despite being raised by a kid who had no idea how to take care of a pet.

I never have. The only animal I ever paid money for was horses. Now we have 2 horses that were just given to us and living on a farm it seems like our farm has become the dumping ground for people wanting to get rid of their dogs.
