Chain of Memories is way more awful than I remember.

I'm not sure if it's the fact that's in 3D, but fumbling through my cards trying to build sleights and attack while avoiding attacks and paying attention to what numbers bosses are throwing is going to give me an aneurysm.

I just finished it and yeah it being in 3D was not great. I ended up just spamming certain sleights (mostly Sonic Blade and Ars Arcanum) against bosses and blizzaga against everything else.

Helps if you go through the 358/2 Days cutscenes first as that puts an extra card in each Room of Rewards. The Demyx card it puts in Atlantica makes Blizzaga super good.

You just have to know how to use your decks.

I like to keep important zeros and cure spells near the back end, so you can quickly jump to reload and go backwards.

Most sleights suck, find some good ones and set them up so its easy to remember which cards start it. Magic sleights are also awesome. Otherwise get lots of CP and you can still mash X on the rest of your attack cards.

I'm doing all of those things. It doesn't help much during the most frenetic boss battles.

I have sleight setups on one end and zeroes on other, flanked by healing and high value key cards for breaks. But it's still too unwieldy to use smoothly when trying to counter boss attacks. It was fine during the GBA version just because you can accept that that was the limitations of the system, but the fact that it's now in 3D just makes me want to play the game with normal controls, especially since this version gains the problem of enemies jumping around everywhere and breaking your lock on frequently.

Also, for a CCG it's really hard to get new cards, especially cards that you want. I need more magic and cheap zeroes but not even the Moogle shops help, they just keep on giving me summons and stuff I don't need. And getting points to spend isn't easy. I wish you could sell map cards since I have a million of them that I don't even want to use.

You don't need some complicated setup. All you need is 0s on the end so you can pull them out instantly whenever you need. Don't worry about high value cards for breaking, doing math like that never works out in the heat of it. If you need more breaks just reload when you run low on 0s and/or just mash together a sleight of higher cards and hope it works, whatever they are.

Heals can be behind the 0s so you don't forget to heal before reloading.

Yeah I mean besides stun lock and high level sleights I think I just mash X with high value cards most of the time, so it feels pretty normal KH.

But with how I've been talking in all these KH topics it would be fairly safe to assume I've played them all! I would hope people wouldn't say things like "3D is an improvement" and talking about boss changes and all of that if they hadn't played both first.

Also why would I say that I thought the same as you at first if I hadn't played it?
