tried Hades for the first time today. that was pretty much an instant failure when i saw that Orlandu was only doing 5k per hit against that enormous health pool. i guess with some entrusted OSBs it might be just enough in a long fight, but i also died immediately and figured i'd see if i can get some 4* holy magicite first, given the massive DPS increase it would bring.

so i tried Siren again and managed to kill her by changing a few things. gave Seph Crimson Cross instead of lifesiphon so he could get into trance while doing more damage, used Rikku as my buffer instead of Ramza so i'd have protect. i also used Shelke instead of Yuffie, with the theory being a bunch of tranced en-dark OSBs coming from Seph, though she died immediately after the initial entrust to Orlandu. still won in just under 50s. definitely a lot of room for improvement there.

I was sub 30-ing Siren before with no chain, so I've been wondering what I could do with a YOLO party after getting Seifer's dark chain. Haven't done it yet because I was using my keystones for more needed crystals... and I'd have to spend a lot of dark orbs to really go for it (I think two ninjas would be my best party).

I've been waffling on pulling tonight... IX characters are some of my favorites and I really want some of these items, but the way the banners are split really sucks for me. I just don't like Kuja at all, and Amarant's USB is on the weak side, but first banner has the best item (Vivi's USB) plus Zidane's good LMR2 and his new USB. Second banner has more stuff I like, but Eiko's USB is a dupe and it doesn't have as high of a top prize.

Took a bit of tweaking of the strategy to get on this side of the fence vs just over 30s but pretty cool. Especially since Sephiroth's contribution amounts to having his burst so it should become easier still if I have any luck on the upcoming FF7 banner. Dark Knight Cecil is just that strong with all his toys.

Should easily clear it with breathing room once I have anything resembling a functional dark deck (only dark related magicite I have in it is a Level 99 Shadow Dragon) but for now gotta get some Evraes.

I almost want to draw on this FFIX banner myself. Vivi Kuja and Amarant are probably the three best characters in the game. And while getting yet another Zidane relic would suck this one at least has native wind boost. Also I mean, for these torments I'm just going to lean into Zidane being one of my strongest characters even if I refuse to use him for anything else.

Next FFIX event banner 2 is kinda better in a lot of ways though so maybe I'll just wait for that?

Yeah since you don't like Zidane I'd just wait. The main temptation for me here is that neither one of Zidane's USBs returns in the next IX even or the next two fests. But the IX torment doesn't happen until the next IX event, and the Wind and Dark 5* magicites are even farther off than that, so there's not really a lot of reason to pull here.

Zidane is one of my favorites and wind is my worst element. but damn that banner looks bad when i already have Vivi's USB. will just have to wait 7+ months to go for it i guess.

I still want Vivi USB and Zidane USB would be nice, but I really don't care for Amarant's stuff, and the Kuja USB is a dupe. I don't draw on banners where I only want 2 relics (ok, 3 if I count Zidane LMR)

Yeah I mostly just want that Vivi USB all things considered. Kuja is behind higher priority dark users I already have stuff for and Amarant seems kinda bad unfortunately. His trance seems neat if you dive him and he'd have a strong ability set to use since I'm investing in Fire Monk stuff for Sabin already but eh.

Garnet is probably the 4th best character in the game and she's on the next banner with Vivi and Kuja USBs and I already have both her LMRs to boot so next one is probably more smart. If I draw on either.

I really want Vivi's USB too. I hope we get the ability double pickup (which would be in 3-4 months if we do get it). If not then either a USB select or the next IX event... eventually I will get it.

I really want Minwu's Ultra 2 but I'm less willing to draw on Fire Pickup (mostly cause him and Vincent are the only two decent magic fire users) or FFIX banners in general vs Holy Pickup or FFII banners in general so I very well may use a USB select to get Vivi's Ultra instead.

Man I've done literally 20 runs of Tiamat between yesterday and today trying to get 4 Slyphs to put Fast Act 8 on an Evrae

I've pulled 2. Along with 8 Tiamats and 10 Silver Dragons

I'd be so upset if we were still using Keystones that I'd probably have used RK Inspector by now. As it is it's only slightly irritating since this is the most efficient way to level magicite anyway. What a dumb mechanic though.

I think I heard there's no RNG in the 5* Magicite drops... just one for each boss (2 per element).

One nice thing about this game is they really do learn from their mistakes and make it better over time.

Much like last time I complained about dumb RNG with Kraken, the game has repented. 4 Sylph in 24 runs is a lot less bad than 2 in 20. Good to hear this mechanic disappears-- guess it's an easy way to remove it just have more bosses.

I inherited my Sylph with the Dampen Earth 10 inherited on it into my Evrae so I now need to farm 4 more Sylph and need to level ANOTHER Slyph to 99 (eventually)

I actually contacted support to see if they could undo the inheritance in some way. I don't expect anything-- it really is my bad for not using the lock feature in this instance (I have other magicites locked just forgot this one) but who knows. It'll be a good litmus test to see how much the support actually cares.

Oh man, that sucks. I'm always afraid I'm going to accidentally overwrite my good inherits with crap from a level 1 2* when I use those for stat boosts.

That sucks. I once used a lvl 99 King Bomb to break the lvl cap of a lvl 65 King Bomb.

i think the worst thing i've done is selling two mariliths at the end of my marilith farming when i meant to sell two firemanes. which might end up not even mattering.

Update support does not care. Not surprising. Oh well, at least it was post keystones. I'm more upset about the real time wasted than the stamina.

On the plus side my average clear time to beat Tiamat has been refined to like 20 seconds average over my running so when (if-- needing Dampen Earth 10x2 is a long time off since I beat Midgarsomr once and my wind team sucks) I do that again it'll be easier.

How much are you guys trying to optimize your magicite decks? Mine aren't super optimized but I have done a decent amount of inheriting - so far I have all 8 element resists inherited with a second element resist (for 15% resistance). I also have an extra fast act on Garuda (maybe the wrong place to put it unfortunately) and an extra element boost on my Hades and King Bomb.

I think I need to do some Evraes next - I know a lot of people are running 2 Evraes with different inherits, but is it better to just put two Surging Powers on the same Evrae so you have more flexibility with your other slots?

Surging power can't be inherited. The most common inherits I've seen for Evrae are Fast Act and Health Boon.

You can't inherit surging power which is why people keep two level 99 Evares in their decks.

First sub-15 on any Magicite. Feels pretty good. But as you can see it's risky so I'm going to build a safer team for actually farming Evrae.

Yeah Fast Act 8 (good ability not often found on Magicite) and Health Boon 5 (built in synergy with surging power and best mitigation against stuff that ignores def/res) seem the best to me. I'd probably do that even if you could inherit surging power anyway since diminishing returns kinda make it so you can afford to lug two off element things per deck and have minimal efficiency loss.

Alright, I made two Evraes (health boon and fast act) - I burned a fair amount of arcana today but that's what it's for! It's still a little hard to get over the psychological barrier of hoarding the stuff.

I have done my share of inheritance.

- I have two Evrea's, one with HP Boon, and one with Fast Act.
- I have Level 15 dampens for each element.
I also like combining Crit-more and Crit-damage.

I'm still not sure what I want to inherit on the magic-focused magicites. Fast Act is an option, but since I'm already running an Evrea with it, the effect of an additional one is barely noticeable. Or I could go with an extra Magic Boon.

Got Quina LMR off 100 Gem

I guess I find myself using Quina a lot for FFIX realm specific stuff but it seems like one of the least useful LMRs out there so kinda worthless.

Yesterday I tried for two hours against the Tactics ??? Torment, and the best I could do was 54%. I feel that 60% might be possible, but that's it. I just don't understand how people can clear that fight under 30 seconds.

You need to be a whale to sub30 D?? Torments and have pulled on the last event's banner.

The most common sub30 teams are Marche (USB) Orlandeau (USB+ LMR) Ramza ( both LMR, USB2 or chain) Agrias (LMR + USB 1 or 2) and Ovelia (USB + LMR) or Alma (USB) And spam Assault Sabers like no tomorrow. It's also a good idea to just wait until the new Knight 6* skill comes out and we have more Poison element resist accessories.

Crystal Towered mastered, easy except for Mateus but apparently he goes down to Ashe hard if you have her USB/AOSB, I relied more on Alph's radiant shield and doublecast Valis to kill the azers and that got the job done.

Another torment is coming tonight. My V team is so weak I'm worried I might not even be able to clear the d280. I basically just have old BSBs and SSBs, plus Gilgamesh's super weak USB1.

I have some nice V relics, but I know D??? isn't happening. D240 should be easy, and D280 might work.

Here's my current plan:
- Bartz with USB - Snowspell, possibly with Steal Power in the second slot.
- Faris with USB2 (Debuffs and Imperil wind), spams Dash & Slash, second slot either Mug Bloodlust, Thief Revenge, or a debuff
- Dorgann with SSB, dispels Gilgamesh, builds some chain with Knight abilities and provides a buff with his SSB
- Krile with Sheepsong provides a Hastega and does as much damage as possible with Meltdown and Tiamat
- Lenna has her USB for an early mixed party buff, and also has both of her BSBs for stronger healing. Protectga and Curada as abilities.

Enkidu magicite will take care of the blinds.

my only V 6*s are Xezat USB and Bartz OSB. don't even have a BSB for Bartz.

would probably need to use off-realm characters to have any chance at the 280, even. maybe like, Tidus, Yuffie, Dorgann (SSB), Faris as an entruster, Lenna.

I'm gonna be pulling on the FFV banner on Thursday so I'm gonna wait until that before I do the torments, even then I should be okay for DPS on the first two with Bartz and Dorgann's USBs. Lenna's who I'm worried about since I only have her SSB and even if I get her USB2 it still sucks.

The big problem is at least in FFT Ovelia was capable healing support. Lenna is not that. I can't in good faith pull on this FFV banner though because between the next FFV event's banner 2 and the next fest's banner 2 I plan to draw on banners that have all the desirable relics from this one pretty heavily

I suppose Bartz ASB being on the banner with Rydia's Ultra 2 is not a total lock, though, since you can kinda throw him in any element for a fest banner you want, but for now I'm going to assume it'll be there.

If you're only doing D280, then bringing along an off-realm healer is okay, isn't it? It's the top level that wrecks you for daring to have any team other than five synergy characters.

My team I posted earlier slaughtered the 240. My first attempt on D280 was around 35 seconds, because I stupidly used Enkidu before the second Flash, meaning Dorgann and Faris remained blinded (as well as Lenna and Krile, I guess).
On the second run, I got him in 27-ish seconds. That leaves the D???, where I'm not really expecting much.

I think I'll keep those rubies I just earned. My XII is not nearly as stacked, and I want to buy Vortex (which is basically Lightning-Water-Ice Meltdown) asap.

My team is so bad. 23-ish on the lowest difficulty, got wiped (everyone except Lenna) in about 47 seconds on the middle difficulty when Gilgamesh was probably down to about 10% HP.

I'm trying to do this with 3 different elements, Sheepsong when Krile is my only mage, Dorgann's SSB as my only attack buff, etc. Gonna do one draw tomorrow but I don't really want to budget more than that, since I'm still only at 150 mythril after spending everything during fest.

I managed to do 60% to the D???. I think that's as far as I can go. These fights are such bullshit. HP to 1 attacks, fixed ST 9999 damage moves, 5000 AoE damage. It's just beyond ridiculous.
