Wait, what? I started with 3, but I played 1 before 2. Guess I just never heard the MGS1 main theme before, somehow.

Cleared that game 100% when I was around 11. Took me 4 days after homework, chores, and earbiny extra money mowing yards. Lol

Most of my friends hated it or called it boring, but I thoroughly enjoyed solving each puzzle of a level. There's one mission in particular which caused me a massive headache. Fuck those grenade missions. Almost made me quit the game because I wanted the perfect lapse time.

I didn't even know gamefaqs existed then.

That's not surprising. The MGS theme literally only plays in the game during the credit sequence on like the third playthrough (and only if you alternate endings, I think)

Other than that, it was only ever featured in trailers for MGS. The first time I heard it was also VR missions intro (which funny enough, was just it's trailer I think) and I had been playing MGS1 since release.

I mean, the basic beat of it is present throughout the whole game (mainly the Alert and Boss themes)

But yeah, it was used better in MGS2 and MGS3.

Cleared in 37:67. First level that gave me trouble. The spotlights have the worst timing and hitboxes that are just big enough to be extremely frustrating.
