It's not just the song choice that's weird.

Maybe the reason for the huge gap between S1 and S2 was because Linked Horizon needed that time to create a new song. With only 1 year, there was no way they were making the deadline.

Also I feel like the opening in general doesn't really give much to what actually is gonna happen in the season? Like I'm pretty sure where I read to in the manga is still further than where season 3 is and yet I can't tell anything from that opening.
