Reptar isnt trained. Hes still very much a work in progress. We just started leave it and drop it and down. He also just went to the dog park for the first time yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Got along great with the other dogs.

Also, to clarify, when I say front yard I mean California front yard. A patch of grass about fifteen by fifteen feet. Nothing big. Right off the sidewalk, which is right off the street.

Also, most peoples grass in the neighborhood is completely dead, because of the drought. This is one of maybe four houses with living grass. My house has wood chips and he hates walking on them, let alone peeing on them. We have dirt in the backyard, he likes that and usually does his business there. I always bring bags but he has pooped on walks maybe four times. Its usually just pee, and even then I feel like its mostly pee on where other dogs have peed pee.

So you do know why they'd be annoyed by your dog pissing on their lawn.

I mean, in the end it doesnt matter if people think its ok to have a dog pee on the property or not.

In this case the woman asked him not too, and continuing to do it in the future is considered trespassing.

Dog pee can kill grass over time if the dog keeps peeing on the same spot, but just once shouldn't hurt. That lady sounds like an asshole.

Yes how dare a person be angered at a stranger letting their animal piss on their belongings.

Domesticated or not, a dog's gonna pee in other's yard. Not because he or she always has to go. But sometimes, just as a way to "communicate" in a way with other dogs. And it's not like you have to already be in someone's yard. When walking on the sidewalk, they sometimes veer off quickly and start peeing...

If you just let your dog veer off into someone's yard and you don't immediately correct them, then thats on you as a dog trainer.

In NYC its required (since 1978) - if the people in NYC can train their dogs to be curbed then you can do it in a little suburb or rural areas.

Whatever. It happens fast sometimes. I walk both my dogs. And they go around sniffing everything back and forth between the yards and the street. And sometimes, they go left to sniff and immediately start peeing. So, it happens fast, The reason I personally don't do anything is because I have neighbors who don't care. And people in general who don't care. To be honest, I've never seen anyone actually care about it.

TC I wouldn't worry about it. Doesn't sound like you did any harm. Someone's dog pissing on a lawn once is not going to destroy their yard. If it keeps happening relatively close to the same area, then yeah it will be an issue. But a person who cares that much about their lawn is likely watering it pretty regularly, allowing the nitrogen in the urine to become dilute, so it's not like it's a big deal anyway.

People who get pissy about little things like that have anger problems. If she doesn't want her lawn to be peed on, you can request that without turning into a crazy person. Just stay away from her yard and let your dog pee on other peoples' lawns who don't care.

Was she elderly?

I've always found it sad and fascinating how elderly people suddenly lose all meaning in their life..........so they find purpose by being nosy or super anal about everything.

Immaculate lawn care.

Calling the the police on a weekly basis because their neighbor is acting "suspicious" (which translates to them just doing yard work or something which trigger the elderly person for some strange reason).

Or being super nosy and wanting to know who everyone in the neighborhood is, where they work, who they are sleeping with, and what kind of grades their kids get in school so they can judge accordingly.

Elderly people are the worst. Small town retirees that have nothing better to do.....so they just bring everyone down.

Honestly it varies from different opinions. Just wrong timing overall.

Doesn't matter if it's just 1 pee because to some, it's disrespectful to let your dog pee in front of the owner even though it's just an accident and wrong timing. Plus, it seems that the young lady really cares about her lawn and gives good work/maintenance to it. If I was her, honestly, I would be mad too.

This is coming from a guy who walks my little angel Chihuahua every single day except when it's too hot or it's raining. I never let her pee on any lawn... we wait until we get back to my house or go to a random location far from homes.

Just be careful next time even though it's just an accident... accidents happen.

That's good that she'll hold it in. My dog won't. Not outside, at least. He won't go inside, but outside, it's all fair game to him. I can stop them from pooping for a few minutes to get somewhere. But if they start trying to pee, they will. Even if I try to move them or something. They'll pee while walking. Haha.

that's fine and all to be upset but to go from 0-60 on the anger scale and start yelling is unnecessary. when you start acting hostile, people tend to either get hostile back or just ignore you because they think you're crazy. people need to control their temper. When you tell someone something very neutrally like "hey please don't let your dog pee on my lawn", they'll usually listen.

I walk first down the street and then through the back alley. They usually hold their poop until we get there if they didn't go out back. But that's good because I will eventually walked past my shared trashcan. Though I could throw it in any because none of them belong to anybody. Everyone just shares all the cans. It's just some are closer to you house than others... And sometimes, certain ones are full...
