I immediately passed on it because of the age difference (have ever only gone about four years younger than me) but I don't know, maybe now I kind of regret it? I'm not really a #yolo kind of person, but it could have been fun.

I'm 31 now and maybe I didn't "sow my wild oats" enough when I was younger because I don't really feel like I'm ready to settle down yet and I don't think I've experienced sex with enough different women to be satisfied. My personal thoughts? 18. You're both adults and free to do what you want. Now, I'm not saying at I'd want to date the average 18 year old because they're generally as dumb as a bag of rocks, but I don't see anything wrong with it. As for being "socially acceptable", there's no general rule. Some people would think you're a creep if you date *anyone* younger, some people have arbitrary number rules(like the classic half your age + 7) and some people don't give a fuck. I'd advise being one of those people in the third group.

It depends what you and the woman want out of a relationship. It also depends on if you and her are both mature enough to make that judgement and not feel obligated to change it to please a partner. For example, I've reached the point where I am looking to start a family. Seriously dating somebody who isn't would just be a waste of my time. And it wouldn't be fair to start a serious relationship with somebody who isn't, knowing I will leave them when I find somebody who is. So I would date a 21 year old if they're in the work force and open to having kids soon. But If a 21 year old is a college student who will be finishing school and getting a career going, I'd pass.
