On episode 9 of IF2. So far mixed feelings, especially after learning it's a shorter season. The tone is a lot grittier whereas the first one was generally pretty fun. Kinda surprised that I've wound up liking Mary's character, given that I didn't like her all that much at first.

Otherwise, after seeing a copy of Gauntlet Legends Dark Legacy yesterday and not being able to remember if I owned it, I'm *finally* sitting down and starting to catalog my collection (or trying to again). I'm also going to save the receipts that I left with them but in a separate location this time and then, when everything's done, I'll probably just toss them. It's nerdy, but I like knowing how much I spent for things because I bargain hunt

I thought it was, "Bros Before Hoes" but what happens if it is your actual brother? Considering my brother got my first girlfriend pregnant behind my back I guess this is both poignant and sad. But it is game and Spider-Man related so I get bonus points.

Still not sure if I have it, but I wish I had picked it up yesterday because it was apparently gone today.

I loved Gauntlet Legends on the N64 and had played some of Dark Legacy in arcades, so it was something I was leaning heavily towards but I just had that nagging suspicion I already bought a copy. Kinda the problem with backlogs.

Gauntlet Legends: Dark Legacy is the kinda sequel to Gauntlet Legends. Gauntlet Legends for the N64 and PS1 had 4 realms (the arcade version *also* had 4 realms, but 2 of the realms were different). Dark Legacy for the gc/ps2 has the 4 realms found in the n64/ps1 but also adds 4 more realms on top of it (2 of which were the arcade realms).

If it sounds confusing, it's because it is confusing.

Finished IF2. The last episode kinda redeems most of the season, which up until the penultimate episode's ending was just alright.

I honestly didn't think that Colleen was going to actually get the fist, I thought something would go wrong and Danny would get it back... then again, the whole season I thought that Danny would somehow regain access to the power so he could fight fist-to-fist with Davos. Of course, the ending *does* show that Danny can also channel the power and, more interestingly, it can be channeled through weapons.

I also enjoyed that each character's fist glowed with a different light. I had just assumed that the power manifested differently in Davos because of how he obtained the fist, but I'm guessing it's just the color of their chi.

Oh, maybe it is. I could have *sworn* it had the "Legends" on the box art for whatever reason. But any rate, it was the ps2 one. The only thing I kinda dislike there is that the ps2 doesn't have native 4p support (although these days I guess that's more of a moot issue because local play stopped being a big thing by the early 00s) and the gc is easier to move & set up (both because I don't leave it hooked up and also for those increasingly rare times I bring a system to a friend's for group play)

As I gradually catalog my gaming collection, I realize that there's no way I could ever hope to get through all this and maintain any semblance of a functional social life >_>

At least with movies/tv I can do other stuff. It's a lot tougher with games. I also need to hook up my ps2 (and the gc) at some point and, looking at the game cases, lately I've been thinking of how poorly most of those titles aged.

Part of it was going overboard when Gamestop was clearancing out stuff. Towards the end, their ps2 games were 75% off so I was picking up a lot of titles for fifty-cents to a dollar in many cases. And I'm *pretty* sure I duplicated some of these purchases later on because I didn't know what I had. (The only kinda benefit in cases like that is that the more recent buys probably had cases.)

So far I've logged 40 titles and it looks like there are at least 50 game cases more in there, in addition to an unknown (probably at least 60) games on media rack, everything I have on shelves somewhere (impossible to even guess), assorted games mixed in with movies, and then handheld games (mix of cases and no cases).

I *think* I used to estimate my game collection at 200-400. It's *possible* I could have 500 physical titles across all systems. That's a lot, right?

I have a lot of DVDs to go through as well at some point but I assume it's a smaller number. Books I'm pretty sure I have at least a thousand, not counting TPBs or comics.

That might be tough given your physical handicaps.... unless you turn it into a tragic origin story for your villain identity! And possibly build an exo-skeleton that compensates for those issues-- oh wait, you'd need expensive equipment to do that. Needing to steal in order to be able to steal is something of a Catch-22.

I have no feelings good or bad on this move. I do not blame him for his 3 appearances being trash, as he is a great actor, and the scripts to those films let him and us down. I think it's for the best if we all just move on fron this chapter of the DCU anyway.

Warner Brothers priority right now is a Supergirl movie. I'mnot sure that's the right play, but I do not run a multi billion dollar movie studio either.

Once they get a Superfirl movie off the ground the plan next is to probably cast Michael B. Jordan as Clark Kent/Superman. I am 100% sure the Internet won't break in half over that potential casting choice.

People will say, "He's not the right choice for the character." But what they really mean is that he is not the right color for the character. A part of me hopesthat they do vast him just so I can see the racist chaos that would follow.

He seemed okay for the role, other than the fact he didn't seem like the kind of guy who really loved the role and would be there for it. Kind of the same problem I have with Affleck playing Batman. When you're building a franchise, you really need people who you can completely count on.

Not sure why you'd complain about the DC films doing poorly then suggest a move that would completely tank them.

And even if MPJ was white, he'd STILL be a lousy choice because he's not the kind of guy who you could expect to get a long-term commitment from. Then we'd wind up needing *another* reboot and the DC films start to look more and more like DC comics.

I got the feeling he might be headed that direction after seeing him in the new Mission: Impossible (in which he was great, BTW) and hearing that he is going to be the Witcher. I liked him as Superman, but I can definitely understand him moving on, especially since the DC movie universe itself is ... kind of mutating, too.

Downloaded Pocket Mortys the other day, played it for a while, and wasn't feeling it (mostly because of the touch screen controls). Decided to give it another go today and... man, is this off-balanced. The worlds/realities designs look pretty lazy (I'm guessing they're randomly generated), the mechanics kinda suck, etc. The only thing going for it is the humor and setting.

Also wound up watching Stephanie (2018), which was a neat, unusual horror film since it was exclusively shown from the girl's POV and she's the only character on-screen for like the first 20 minutes. Granted, it gets flat-out goofy right at the end.

Yeah, it's really not a Pokemon replacement. It's more of its own thing. And I like the concept and everything, but the gameplay is so unbelievably slow. Doubly so since each trainer you run into has a full team. Within the context of Pokemon, I was always somewhat bugged by the fact that random trainers who challenged you almost never had a full team, but PM kinda shows why it's a sucky idea.

In general, it's a pretty neat parody that fits the feel of the R&M universe. However, the creators were more focused on creating a parody and having fun with the concept than they were with making a great game (although it's a mobile title with a RWT component so... par for the course?)

The simplistic rock-paper-scissors typing is a humorous jab at Pokemon's type effectiveness system, but it's also a stark reminder why the Pokemon games have so many types because (other than the default Morty) there really many "normal"/neutral Mortys so the odds of a neutral matchup are kinda low and some fights involve the player & NPC repeatedly switching Mortys.

A lot of the dialog pokes fun at the shorts-loving NPCs as well as some of the mundane introductions in RBY, but they kinda overuse certain trainers all with the same dialogue (often ones who don't speak English) which quickly kills a lot of the fun.

Then there's the general balance issue where your opponents are all roughly the same strength as you so, when you're fighting trainer after trainer, you can get KO'd a lot because you'll *always* need healing between battles. And, among other inconveniences, I don't think you can just leave a dimension before beating its Rick so sometimes you're stuck having to lose to return to the citadel.

....and, on a somewhat related note, I'm kinda tempted to contribute a review to Gamefaqs for the first time in years.

I looked at my save file, and it's been since June 21st since I last played. I remember being sick, and the after I got better I just did not feel like playing any games, but that ended today.

The combat system is very difficult, but I managed to pick it back up and remember what I was doing all those months ago. Which leads me to this conclusion.

No reason not to, IMO.

And I can understand regular Trainers not having full teams of Pokmon, but the more recent games in the series have late-game Gym Leaders and Elite Four members without full teams, and that just bugs me.

I have an easier time understanding that since, for storyline reasons, they might be limiting themselves just like gym leaders, etc, limit their teams to fit a certain theme. However, when I find a dozen rattata or pidgey while walking through an area before encountering a trainer, it's just weird that all he has is the one rattata.

Of course, you also always have trainers on Victory Road where you wonder how they could have possibly got all the badges with the teams they're using. (Unless they swapped out Pokemon to a crappier team.)

I have my first Doctor's appointment with the weight loss surgeon tomorrow afternoon.

I'm kind of excited to see what I will look and feel like in a few momths when I'm much smaller. Plus my left knee is a bit sore, and the less weight on it the faster I will be able to move around when walking. I'm just looking forward to the future and some change.

The bad news is that I will never be able to use a straw again. Plus I will have to take a crap ton of vitamins to supplement my protein loss for the first few months, then leas supplements later, but I will have to take some forever too. All in all the pros out weigh the cons in this situation.

Do not use straws, drink from a glass. Using a straw with sucking motion can cause more bleeding by dislodging the blood clot. Avoid carbonated beverages or very hot foods or drinks. A soft, non-chewing diet is recommended for 10 days to 2 weeks aftersurgery to allow the gum tissue to heal.

I'm not a smoothies person, but aren't those normally had with a straw? Otherwise, when I had my wisdom teeth removed it was ice cream and apple sauce for me, since I was told hot liquids could also agitate it which took soup off the table.

Just beat Spider-Man last night. Final boss wasn't very hard even on the hardest difficulty but it was pretty cinematic, and the ending itself was pretty emotional.

Without spoiling anything, there are at least three major set-ups for possible plot-lines in the next game.

And also without spoiling anything, there's something that the comics handled really poorly in the Clone Saga from the '90s that was handled really well here (not involving clones).

The doctor was super nice at the weight loss clinic. My wife did not like him because he asked her some medical questions, and not just me. She is a very private person, and was a bit unhappy with having to answer personal questions when I was the inenjaving the appointment. He was just being through, and she thought he was rude.

Overall fir me the experience was pretty good. I have to attend weight loss meetings, have a diet plan, and go see a therapist to make sure that I'm not insane and can handle the rigors of the process and surgery.

I guess it would not be smart to mention my life goal of "Having homeless people fight to the death for my amusement." During our session.

Effects look neat but... when's this film supposedly set? I would assume SamueL is still playing Fury, but he's got more hair and both eyes.

It was bound to happen. 20 games, and all have not been announced yet. Hoping for Legend of Dragoon and Legend of Legaia with a Breath of Fire 4 chaser.

20 games doesn't seem like much, but I'm still intrigued.

I forgot to mention that the Playstation Classic is 100 bones. That is roughly 5 dollars per game. I guess that's a good deal per game wise, but I'm never going to play some of those games they are going to put on there. Therefore, that basically drives up the per game value a lot more when all things are considered.

Like I spoke in my previous post, if they would just put Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9, Breath of Fire 4, Legend of Dragoon, Xenogears, Legend of Legaia and just call it a JRPG PS1 classic, they would already have my money. As it stands this is not a must have product.
