His internet was out all weekend. They sent a tech out and all they had to do was plug something back in. DSP blames the customer service person he talked to on the phone for not advising him to do that, because when your internet goes down no one thinks to check that everything is plugged in correctly. Comcast is a detractor.

I think DSP is definitely more entertaining than Wings, although I haven't watched Wings all that much. But Phil has been boring lately. Unless he's dealing with some new crisis, he's pretty much just going through the motions at this point.

Tut apparently left, feeling Phil's chat was too toxic. He blamed a couple people in the chat (Swagginz and Sidella) specifically, and said that LTG's chat was more welcoming. DSP got pissed that his main source of money left, blamed the whole thing on another user (someone he's banned and unbanned several times before), and banned that user permanently.

FYI: The user Phil shit all over and banned permanently was unbanned and is in the night stream.

He's said in the past that the prestreams are necessary in order to show people how they can support him. And he has to acknowledge the people who have donated to him. He seems to feel that a lengthy prestream is just part of doing business.

In reality, he doesn't want to play games anymore, so he wastes as much time as possible before getting to the gameplay. And his prestreams give him the opportunity to rant about whatever is bothering him to an audience that is mostly sympathetic. There's honestly almost a cult-like mentality to it, with him repeating the same things everyday and being praised and having money thrown at him for his minimal efforts.

Tut has been the only good thing in Phil's life lately. He says that things have been positive in the last couple months, with good stream attendance and lots of support. But attendance on a lot of his streams has been awful--there are days when he's barely breaking 300 viewers for his main stream--and even a lot of his regulars seem bored with most of the new games he's playing. Tut has provided a large percentage of the support, and that's why Phil is so upset. His idea of success is one guy bankrolling him. And the possibility of losing that is killing him.

I love how Phil was trying to spin this as something minor that had been blown out of proportion by his detractors. His largest benefactor leaves because of his second largest benefactor (and top mod), a user banned from Twitch for making death threats continues to appear on sock accounts and Phil has no problem with this, and Phil goes apeshit and blames everything on a user he doesn't like but whom he seems forced to tolerate because they are fairly popular with the other people in stream chat. Yeah, no drama there. :/

I also love how he finishes his hour plus prestream and says he has to go to the bathroom and will be just a few minutes. Because he obviously couldn't do that before the stream started. And then he takes ten minutes or more. This is a man who has zero respect for his viewers.

Chat is bored with Tomb Raider and is discussing other things that Phil doesn't understand, which pisses him off. He wants people to talk to him because it's an interactive stream. Basically, he can't provide entertainment, so his viewers must come up with suitable conversation topics to make up for the boring gameplay. I know this stuff is not new or surprising, but it never ceases to amaze me how truly awful he is as a streamer.

I guess he got enough donations to consider the event a success. But to me the whole thing really only shines a spotlight on how he used to have fun making videos, how he used to have friends, and how once upon a time he was fairly successful (he noted several times how many views and likes some of the videos had). It's gotta be a pretty sobering thing to see that your best days are long behind you.
