It's the first time the nomination form/rules haven't said "originated in a game", and Geralt is in as TRE mentioned. However the real test will be when we get 100 noms for someone new (like Spider-Man, Vader, or Goku) and see if SB allows them onto the suggested list.

Even if Spider-Man never makes it to the suggested list, the other thing to keep an eye on is whether Spider-Man can make it into a Vote-In poll. If he couldn't make it into a Vote-In poll, then that means no character who originated outside of a video game was going to make the bracket besides the few exceptions that were on the suggested list.

Id take the lack of "exclude characters that don't originate from a game" language to give Allen an opportunity to let in a few characters that are primarily known for being in a game, even if technically they were created elsewhere.

I'm not sure what he didn't just include something along those lines in the nomination form, but whatever. I expect he will just veto anything that was clearly popularized outside of gaming.
