Meanwhile, while on Amazon, I bought a Quentin Tarantino Ultimate Blu-ray Collection containing 8 movies for $25, which they had advertised as one of their daily deals. I'll probably get way more enjoyment out of that, plus I still have $40 left over.

Don't have a Switch.

If anything compels me to get one, it will be Smash, BotW, and Odyssey, preferably with another one or two to add to this list. (As time has gone on I've realized there's been fewer and fewer games for a console that I actually want to play, while the consoles themselves have been getting more and more expensive, making their purchases more and more questionable.)

So far this game isn't even pinging my radar.

Never saw anything in this franchise. Cancel.

I don't care about the held items of abilities that much because they were really a gen 1 things, IIRC. Though, they are good sometimes...

Pokmon Go catching system is not really my thing, but IDK...

I would not like to have certain Pokemon in my party just to go to a gym. I like to build a versatile team. Not have the game make me constantly change for whatever stupid reason. I would hope they have a good reason for this. Like something happening in battle or a special story or scene or something...

How are they not going to have wild battles. Do the Pokemon not level up? Or is the leveling also like Pokmon Go?

I don't mind the graphics or it being Kanto...

I don't mind taking my starter with me everywhere, but I wish I could have a different pokemon out. Whether it rides on me or walks next to me or whatever... Though it kind of sucks that you can't evolve them...

I wouldn't mind them removing EVs & IVs. Never really understood them, anyway. But from what my brother said, sounds like another stupid RNG game. But I guess it doesn't really matter as much since I never really played the game with people who farm for that crap. And most likely never will.

>Different doesn't necessarily mean bad. The 151 fits the theme, using at least one specific Pokemon is an interesting gimmick, and the other two things are how it works in PG which, for a game connected to PG, only makes sense that it'd be the same way.

Raising the prices?! Those cads!

I know that CAD vs USD is a bit different so the money doesn't really equate to the same thing (in fact, 80CAD works out to about 60USD), but it still seems like a crazy hike.

While I can't get that mad at people for suggesting to play FR/LG, I strongly disagree with your sentiment and feel that you're overlooking the fact they'll likely try to turn this into a series with other gen versions to follow.

Maybe. I guess that would depend on how well it sells. Though, the core game will most likely outsell it. So, even if they did, they would stop making the core games, as well. It would make sense to do both, since you'll get sells for both sets of games. And because it would be a bad move to stop selling the core games...

tbh, this is why the handhelds vs home console Pokemon division made a lot of sense. You could get away with doing weird stuff on the home consoles without being concerned about the impact on handhelds (then again, you *also* had spinoffs on the handheld). Granted, no matter what they're never going to stop doing core games and we're probably going to always get spinoffs so... I'm not sure how worried you should be about either thing

Granted, where PLG doesn't use core mechanics, it's arguably not really competing with the core games and will likely just be filler between core games (and core sequels)

I'm not too worried about it. I did like some of the home console games. Though, I had always wished they were more like the core handheld games. I liked playing on the tv and the graphics(which would good at the time), but didn't like how you could only catch certain pokemon. And usually taking them to "save" them. They did have the one game where you could catch a few woid pokemon by using the food to lure them, but that was weird...

It uses the Kanto map, has the Kanto starters, uses a slightly modified Kanto campaign, is marketed as a remake of the gen 1 games (right down to using the name), and... you think it's more gen 2 than gen 1? Seriously, wtf, dude? Yes, you have the islands where you can catch some non-gen 1 Pokemon (and can trade with gen 3 once you visit those islands for your new dex), but it's *still* a gen 1 remake meant to modernize the game for the gen 3 mechanics (at least partly because gens 1 & 2 weren't compatible with gen 3 because the stat mechanics changed, etc)
