I recently started to count calories and have lost a few lb (mostly of water weight) and someone asked me why I was watching what I was eating (I am 220lb, they are 280lb) and I was like "I'm just tired of being a fat boy!"

Is that an appropriate thing to say when the person you are speaking to is in fact larger than you?

You could've phrased it more gently given your company, but if they feel insulted for something you said about yourself, that speaks more to their own guilty conscience than anything.

I don't think there's anything wolf with what you said, isa only really a problem if you start attacking them

Coming from another fat guy trying to lose weight

If you're both overweight it's not a huge issue

If you were pretty slim saying that shit it would be different

It was appropriate since they asked why you were watching what you were eating. I would not have brought it up unprompted, it was an appropriate response to their question.

It doesn't really apply here since they asked, but in general, whether your friend is a boy or a girl matters, too. A 220 pound boy and a 220 pound girl are not treated the same, much less a 280 pound girl.

I do it. I am also 220 and sick of feeling g fat. If they are heavier and don't feel fat good for them I guess. But I felt 260 was my wake up call and started losing weight before my pant size started to begin with a 4 instead of a 3.

Of course. The fact still stands either way. If that's what you want to discuss, then discuss it. If they ask you to stop, then stop.

Dunno. Its like those things where people dont want to say black guy when trying to describe someone because there is a black person near them. That happened to me before. He was trying to describe someone without saying black because he saw me. Took him forever and no one knew what he was talking about. Then I said you mean the black guy with the yellow hat. Then he said yeah, and then everyone knew who he was talking about.

As someone who's 350+, yeah... I'd feel some offense at your comment, like you don't really know the definition of fat. Who knows how that guy felt though.

inb4 someone who's 400+ comes in and tells me the same thing.
