So, apparently I will never draw another rainbow, so I am probably either thinking of quitting or rerolling. Im rank 141 but my account is terrible, lmao. Any somewhat useful 7*s I may have are months away, so this seems like a good time to walk away or reroll. Should I?

Im leaning towards quitting because a 1% rainbow rate is pretty lousy.

There's no point in rerolling if you're account is that high because there will always be future better units coming in.

That applies to every gacha game. If you know you're getting 7*s to use later on, then just stick with them.

Rainbow rates are 3% unless you mean something like on-banner.

Rerolling also means throwing away all the items you've gotten this point too.

What really matters is whether getting 7*s will make you happy enough to keep playing, because if you don't enjoy the game now, just getting a new unit isn't probably going to change that more than temporarily.

I mean you could make an alt; starting over while keeping your old account. The Facebook thing will make things a bit more annoying, though, but it might reignite the flame.

And, as a person who has had terrible rows of no Rainbow luck many a time since the beta: the Lady is fickle; she'll favor you in time.

That is a good point because ability and gear matter a ton in making a character great.

Even 'average' characters should still be fine with the right stuff.

Yeah, gear means a lot. I can get an importer Fists to Dick Sabin over 1k Atk. You dont want to lose the gear if youre rank 140

No dont do this.

Pretty much stick to the lapis fountain unless youre interested in whaling, imo.

I tapped myself out COMEPLETLY, down to 0 lapis and 0 tickets on the Deus Ex banner, and now Im up to 20k lapis and 50 tickets.

I used 10 tickets last night for Mephaisie, and got the ultimate troll rainbow, Ramza.

It happens.

Oh yeah the step ups, but, eh, thats just way too much money to give to Gumi.

I would definitely just try saving for a while. The rainbows will come, and youd be surprised how quickly lapis builds up doing dailies. I tapped out on the Star Ocean banner at the July, and in two months Im at almost 45k lapis. Only money Ive given Gumi was fountains.

Even doing daily pulls (because I cant resist), Im up to 3k after blowing everything last week on Malphasies step up. Yes Im using fountain, but thats just too good a deal dollar for dollar.

Just, uh, Orlandeau, Wilhelm and Olive for 7* that are useful.

I only 7*ed Knight Delita just to get the moogle, and I havent been that impressed with 7* Merc Ramza because of the cover when he should be magic covering. Lightning is Lightning.

I have a few other 6* that I can make 7* now, but theyre not going to be all that good. I do have Loren, Noctis, Aileen, CG Noctis and Lasswell but they are simply way too far away.

1300 lapis, and no tickets. I had spent thousands of lapis and used hundreds of tickets over the last few months and got nothing. 99% of my pulls have been blue and 99% of those have been 2016 poop.

You dont even really need 7*s for content right now. Orlandeau is still very good right now, and Wilhelm will remain one of the best tanks for a while.

Your situation doesnt seem that bad!

7* are a bonus, not a need.

7* Orlandeau is still damn fine, Wilhelm is an amazing tank, and Olive is a beautiful finisher.

As for your 6*:
Alieen is still amazing, CG nichol is still one of the best buffers right now and Loren and Lasswell are going to be amazing soon enough.
Your bad row of luck is terrible, but don't overlook the good tools you have already.

They are the next step in the games content and will help introduce new harder and harder content based solely around them.

Yeah, but that's also at least 6 months away most likely, and that's only one trial. By then we'll have gotten one more UoC set, and well on our way to our third. Gumi is also notoriously slow with releasing trials (the pace that we've been getting them at lately is pretty phenomenal), which might add a little bit more time to the buffer. So while it is coming, "soon" implies that it's right on the horizon, not sometime around middle of next year.

Attitude goes a long way. Just remember that it's all a gamble and just like in Vegas, losing a gamble is depressing and worsens the more you lose.

There are no real niche units in the game or must have 5* base units. If you are struggling to complete content, the exvius wiki usually has one or two free to play content clearing walk through that uses no 5* Base units and TMRs.

It all balances out. When I went through my ticket stash trying to get Malphasie's 7* without using lapis, I had 50 straight blues. Not a single gold or rainbow. With something like 120 pulls (including a 30% rainbow and 3 10% rainbows), I got one rainbow, and it was my 5th Seabreeze Dark Fina. Didn't get any non-guaranteed rainbows until the last step of the step up, were I finally got 2 Malphasie. Unless it's the final step of an 11k step up, my luck is terrible, but the 11ks is where they balance out and I keep ending up with 3 of the banner rainbow.

When we got the special return tickets, I had something like 220. I got 2 rainbows. My wife had 70, and she got like 7 or 8 rainbows.

Fina is just taunting me. I decided to moogle her Hairpin, because it's just good headgear and I really need more of that. Well she was just shy of a full percent, so I figured I'd moogle her most of the way and stick her in my raid party for a few rounds since I could do it fine with only for units. For the last several days she's been sitting at 99.9%.

Methinks she's learned well how to be a tease from Dark Fina.

I havent done the current story, but im otherwise out of lapis resources. I have one ticket left in the raid, and I used all the tickets in the FFXV event. I just hate that the only way I will ever pull a rainbow without spending money is through an UoC ticket. Ive totally screwed myself at this point, I think.

It's not the only way, I promise. I went through a several month drought of rainbows recently, and yeah, it sucked donkey balls. The first time around, I actually took a break from the game for a while. I didn't stop entirely, I just logged in for dailies, pulled when I wanted to pull, and used whatever free tickets I got. I didn't do events, I didn't do story, and I didn't stress over trials. Yeah, I missed some good gear here or there, and I didn't have as many tickets as some people did, but that's okay. The second time was just a long drought between rainbows. I got nothing out of the month of free dailies, the month of free 10+1's, and nothing out of the anniversary celebration tickets. That sucked.

But the core game itself is still fun. What you posted earlier looked like the makings of a team that'll be enough to get you through the content the game has to offer for a good while. And eventually, the law of averages will catch up to you if you keep pulling. One drought does not have to define your entire experience with the game.
