The MCU has been fucking killing it the last few years, and even before that they didn't ever really have a "bad" movie, just ones that weren't as great as the rest.

I recall people predicting the first GOTG was gonna be awful too but that was one of the best in the whole franchise.

She's not a really well known character, her story with Rogue is probably her most known arc. And her comics sell really badly.

Stupid reasons really.
There's no reason at all to believe the movie will mirror the comics, the mcu only loosely takes from the source and I don't see why that change now.
Movie Thanos is a completely different character when compared to comic Thanos and everyone loved it. The guardians shared almost nothing in common with their counterparts and it was a huge hit.
Why can't the same apply here?

I never read any Iron Man comics, but a friend of mine did. He once told me that RDJ's Stark is massively different from the comic version, but nobody cared because the comic Stark is terrible.

part of the problem is that comic stark isn't the real stark. years ago, the real original Tony Stark died. the one in the comics now is a clone. seriously. this is actually true. he's basically the same thing. but who knows. maybe something in the cloning made him more of an asshole than he used to be in the old days. most of his asshole stuff is post cloning so.....I could be on to something

they're similar in their motivations and the skeletons in their closet (alcoholism, extreme hubris causing them to make bad decisions) but RDJ's Tony is much more humorous and much less of a dick than comic Tony

I'm responding to the topic title which is about the movie, not opinions on Carol Danvers comics. Curious how people are convinced the female led Marvel movie will be the beginning of the end.

i'm just explaining why the people are nervous. most of the people saying the movie will be bad, are comic readers. so I was explaining the reason comic readers dislike Carol. yea she probably will be different. I am not actually myself worried about the movie. I think it probably will be good. I think she's a bitch in the comics but I think they aren't idiots and they will make her different. also I think this will lead to a Kamala movie which is what everyone really wants
