I was basically spending all my free time back then watching anime and that's when I was in college so I had a lot more free time. if I wasn't watching airing anime, I was watching older shows. it was fucking hardcore man.

I lasted just about a year watching everything I could. I'm not sure how much time roba spends on other hobbies though, I mean I could still be doing that if I neglected video games.

I'm just the type of person to jump 100% from one hobby to the next. A few years ago I was all about painting fantasy miniatures for about four months, then I completely stopped that and watched thirteen seasons of The Simpsons all at once, then I switched to video games and beat 100 in a year, then I switched to anime... eventually I'll probably switch from this too but hopefully even then I'll still keep up with a show or two per season.

So it looks like they're putting the story of the Bleach novels written by Ryougo Naritai into Brave Souls.

I think it takes place during the timeframe after the final fight but before the final chapter. Hisagi's the main character of it and supposedly it reveals his bankai.

That is definitely one way to keep the game alive.

I apologize for the break I took, but I finally finished another Monogatari Second Season arc, Shinobu Time. I thought it was a huge step up from the previous Nadeko one, it was intriguing the whole way through and it's always nice seeing more of Shinobu.

I enjoyed hearing more about Shinobu's backstory, especially the way it was presented, almost like a storybook with all the artistic still images. This Yotsugi girl is growing on me too, I guess her arc will be in Tsukimonogatari given the picture it has on Crunchyroll and now I'm looking forward to it. I honestly wasn't expecting this to be the farewell arc for Hachikuji either, but that last episode handled it really well. There was still some lame Araragi groping at times, but their friendship still carried a lot of weight and I'm sad to see her go. More than anything, though, I enjoyed the concept of the 'darkness'. It provided a nice mystery that kept me thinking to try and guess what was happening, the explanation made sense, and it was a unique concept.

Hopefully I don't wind up waiting two weeks to watch the final arc of this season!

Shinobu Time is the least popular second season arc, incidentally. I'm not a huge fan, though it has plenty of great parts.

Finished Asobi Asobase. Great show! Definitely the funniest of the season, and the year. The three main characters are hilarious in pretty much every situation, and while the side cast is more hit and miss, some of them are great too, especially Maeda, who manages to be the best part of almost every skit he's in. Unlike Chio, this had actual good pacing, with 3-4 skits per episode, so things usually didn't wear out their welcome (unfortunately the last episode wasn't that great - the baby part was too long, and the bra segment wasn't the best, but even that ep had it's hilarious parts, especially the ending). I still like Hinamatsuri overall, because Asobi wasn't quite over enough to overcome Hinamatsuri's other strong elements, but it's currently my #1 anime of Summer, at least!

I don't think the license arc was terrible, but it's clearly a weak part, and Bones knew that it was the safest part of manga for them to muck up with weak pacing and filler. They made the license exam worse so they wouldn't have to harm the integrity of the next few arcs.

The filler episode was the weakest episode sure but it wasn't the absolute worst thing.

And I still stand by the charity filler episode being quite fun for what it was

That movie was so bad I cant believe theyre making another. Like there are probably people out there with THAT as their first exposure to the series and I sure as hell wouldnt want to check out the anime or manga if I saw the live action trash first lol

Since it came out on Netflix recently, I watched through Dragon Pilot: Hisone and Masotan. I think the best word to describe this would be 'unique', and obviously that starts with the weird dragon pilot concept. It also applies to the art/animation style, and what themes the story explores. I found the whole thing weirdly charming and so I enjoyed it a lot. Hisone was a really fun character the whole time with her mannerisms and inability to keep her mouth shut, and the rest of the main cast all filled their roles well too. If I had to find a problems with it, it would be that the first half didn't really set up the second half as well as it could have or maybe I just missed it but love didn't really seem like much of a factor, it was about people finding their purpose in life until suddenly episode seven is all about dating?, but both pieces of the story were still handled well so I guess I shouldn't complain. I had a lot of fun with it.

Yeah, sales have definitely been declining. Lots more sub-1000 series, less >10000 series. Titan and Osomatsu both fell over 80% in their second seasons. Thankfully, streaming is much more important than it used to be, some Japanese disc sales don't really matter that much anymore. Kakegurui averaged 700 units and it's getting a sequel!
