As much as it makes tactical sense for the GOP to pull the brakes on Kavanaugh and just push through a less volatile nominee, I don't see that happening.

I also don't see two GOP Senators voting against him.

It is possible they could delay it enough for voting to take place after the midterms. Then if democrats could steal a couple of senate seats we have a real possibility. These are fairly slim odds though.

Republicans can confirm him without Dem support and they have proven to be without shame, ethics, or basic human decency. Fear of the midterms is the only thing giving slight pause.

But they know something Dems don't . . .

You don't win by losing. They'll put him on the bench because 30 years on that seat is worth more than a single midterm, which they may ever lose regardless.

Unless there's substantial evidence that he did what he is being accused of, then he'll be confirmed. Last minute accusations with no corroboration don't do much to sway people, other than the people that already don't want him.
