Tyler did lose yes, but you can't deny the audience wanted him to win, and felt he should have won. He won AFP for god's sake.

Honestly though, the most boring coat tail riding player will always win over the person who literally controlled the entire house and EVERY eviction! That's insane to me, but that is the game I suppose.

Survivor is just so, so much better. It's not without it's problems however. This new F4 twist in Survivor is one of the worst I've seen the show implement, and it's unfortunately looking like it will stay.

Let's not take away all of the comp wins from Kaycee. She had fantastic social game and relationships with the other side of the house and was pretty straight forward too. She played a good game. And if Tyler was a Dan or a Will he would have known not to go with her.

Just watched Survivor this morning. Premier was decent, even if the ending was definitely a downer. What a weird freak accident to happen, though part of me wonders if they should have been transporting them via boat in that weather, or just waiting until things died down a bit.

I'm not saying KC didn't play a great game, I'm just saying she played the boring game. Winning comps and being nice to everyone while someone else runs the show is absolutely the way to win. It's just so boring to watch that get rewarded in the end.

No one is saying they don't understand why KC won, we're more so disappointed about what this means for future games. No one is going to want to be the Tyler or the Paul, so the safe way to play will be "do what the house wants."

GOOD. Tyler and Pauls micromanagement style of gameplay is BORING. I dont WANT more players that try to run entire seasons down to the tiniest details, because it leads to the dull final stretches weve gotten for the past two seasons. Derrick sucked the life out of Big Brother 16 with that shit. Im not saying Kaycees gameplay is much better, but I blame that more on the bloated season length forcing people to lay low for like, the first two months.

Keep in mind: Dr. Will and Dan, two of the most beloved strategist winners ever, were not overbearing control freaks in their seasons. Will was a bottom feeder who used his charm to trick people into targeting other players, and so was Dan. They didnt map out their seasons to maximize their odds of making the finals. They were just good enough players to adapt to changing situations. We need more of THAT and less of Tyler/Paul/Derrick style gameplay.

Yeah, I hate that twist so much. It takes away the crux of the game, which is voting people out. The way to earn your spot in the end is to convince the others to take you. Always has been.

Also, after showing my dad AUS2017... Probst is so insufferable these days. Jonathan LaPaglia is strongly preferable to current Probst. It's a jarring change to go from someone more understated and reminiscent of a pre-ego trip Probst to... ego-trip Probst.

Big Brother is okay and all but Survivor is so much better-produced that it's startling at times.

As far as the Vis and wg cinversation. I think it is a combination. You need micromanagers to fail for good moments like Paulie did in BB18 but you need social players so it isnt insufferable like BB19. What Big Brother is best for is the chaos so like the beginning of this season when Tyler was playing both sides and there was a lot of back and forward so we have a good idea but not a true idea on what they is going to happen on a weekly basis.

It's really frustrating to think what might've happened if there wasn't the stupid OP hacker twist thrown in, and Angela or Kaycee likely would've gone out week 2 of the jury. Both went on to have a huge impact due to comp wins that losing one of them early could've made such a difference.

I'm thinking about it, and Tyler's problems started WAY before that.

I mean, at the start of the game, Tyler was positioned safely between the two sides, and stayed there until shortly before the Bayleigh boot. In that time, he had two options: FOUTTE, who were CLEARLY established as gullible, easily-manipulated, and poor game players...or Level 6, who were calm, rational, and intelligent. He chose to stick with an alliance of players similar to himself and to eliminate the alliance of players whose grating personalities probably would've benefited him in a final two scenario. By the time Faysal went home, there were a LOT of players who, if not guaranteed to beat him, at least stood a strong chance of giving him a run for his money.

The thing is the FOUTTE voters are so erratic you really can't tell what they would do. They might just turn around and say "well Angela was the one running things and manipulating Tyler so we gotta respect her game and give her the win"

The only voter for Kaycee that actually makes any sense is Fessy because she won the comps that sent him home. He's a simple guy and respects strength, so he sees the person that sent him home by beating him in a comp as the strongest. Kaycee won the veto and got that respect, but Angela won the HoH that week so he'd probably use the same logic and vote for Angela.

Tyler lost because he had poor jury management, end of story. The fact that he admitted to deliberately making enemies on the jury proves that he didn't understand how the jury works. If you're an asshat to somebody on their way out the door, those feelings are going to fester for their entire time in the jury house, and an apology 5 minutes before they vote for the winner isn't going to erase that (especially when you admit to what I mentioned above).

I seem to remember making a particular comparison with Tyler a few weeks ago, and the reaction to his loss is actually validating that comparison.

this is a laughably bad analysis. tyler had great jury management, he just ran into two people that didnt vote based on game (rockstar, sam) and two people that were obviously bitter (bayleigh, and especially scottie) and one person that didnt know what was going on at any point (fess).

he lost because of a combination of an unjustifiably bitter jury and the likes of rockstar voting solely on race/sexual orientation.
