By time the month is up I will probably watch way more than 31 horror movies, though there will be some days where I don't watch any.

Tonight I watched Molly, which is kind of horror/scifi/action. It sucked.

Hell yes. Today I went back and watched a more recent favorite of mine, discovered it last year's October. Movie called Hush, it's fantastic and would recommend.

Damn, I didn't watch any yesterday so I'm doing a double feature today.

1. The Fly (1986)

Jesus fucking christ. This movie is fucking gross. I shouldn't have started this before dinner (i'm still eating dinner), but it was amazing. Goldblum was phenomenal, and the body horror was very well done. I'm glad the movie is so well regarded. It even creeped me out a bit. Loved it.

I'm gonna need something on the lighter side after that, so I'm watching a horror comedy with Nic Cage called Mom and Dad next.

I watched Curse of the Mayans tonight. I expected it to suck and it did. I was just curious as to what it would get right about Mayan history, and for the most part besides the alien stuff it wasn't that off.

Well, I caught up

1. The Fly (1986)
2. Mom and Dad

It was decent. First half was pretty fucking good and it has an interesting concept. Second half kinda flails around a bit and I'm not thrilled with the ending. Still, always good to see Nic Cage overact.

1. The Fly (1986)
2. Mom and Dad
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street

This was way better than I expected, tbh. The death scenes were fantastic. Ending was dumb, but I read they forced him to do it. I should watch the New Nightmare at some point. I saw parts, but I think I'll get a new appreciation for it after watching the original.

I was disappointed cause I wanted a good Friday the 13th movie to watch starring Jason, but all the reviews of them other than the original (which I watched last year) were pretty bad.

I liked it. Good period piece. Definitely not what most people would be looking for though.

There is no way I can watch a movie every day, but I might be able to catch up on the weekends.

It's official. The total of 31 does not need to be distributed in a one per day rate, and can be watched in any way during the month of October so long as the 31st movie is watched on the 31st.

Glad that's settled.

Nightmare is a fun time. I enjoyed all of them, even the Remake. Freddy is such a fun killer.

Friday is fun too, but it was always my least favorite of the big 3. Still worth watching them though, still a fun ride.

1. Molly
2. Curse of the Mayans
3. Final Exam

Watched Final Exam tonight. A slasher from 1981. It wasn't that good, mainly cause for 90% of the movie nothing happens. The very end is solid and some of the characters were good so it wasn't a total train wreck.

So tonight I watched Train to Busan. This is one I've had on my list for a while, but never got around to watching. In short... I've had it with these motherfucking zombies on this motherfucking train! But for real, this movie was legit. Like, I wasn't expecting much, but this was a good movie. The characters were super likable, and showed some good growth over the movie, and, the train full of zombies setting made it super tense and really effective. Would recommend.

I really liked him. His schtick is pretty good. I'll probably watch a friday with jason actually in it this month, because it's been way too long.

1. The Fly (1986)
2. Mom and Dad
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street
4. Poltergeist

Yesterday I did poltergeist. I definitely like it more than most other haunted house movies mostly because shit actually happens. It's not 85 minutes of pots and pans flying around and then 5 minutes of actual stuff (cough supernatural activity cough).

Still, it was a bit cheesy, which I don't mind at all.

Gonna watch Halloween now.

Halloween was good. Not quite what I expected, but still a decent flick. The music really makes it pop and so does Jamie Lee Curtis. Definitely gonna watch that new one.

Suspiria is hands down one of the best films I've watched. It's like literally made for me. The color, the excess, the music...it all works perfectly.

Henry was pretty dark. Definitely more of a thriller but man, the movie really gives no fucks.

Body Snatchers was nice. I watched the 70s version last year and I don't know which one I prefer tbh. Script was tight and it kept me engaged.

Couldn't say the same thing about Scanners, though. For Cronenberg, I kinda expected more. The main character's acting is so wooden, it borders on annoying. The ending was great though.

So, I was gonna do three today to get myself back up to speed. But I only ended up with two, so doing another double tomorrow should bring me back up to speed. Now then.

Tonight I watched two movies! The sequel to Creep, Creep 2. This was fantastic. They honestly could have just done the first movie again, and it would have been good. But they went and did something different. Just as good, if not better. And, well, I can't say anything without spoiling them both, so just go watch these two movies. Good stuff.

Then I went and watched The Silence of the Lambs. Such a great movie. Hannibal Lecter is an awesome character.
