Sheriff Ricky Roberts from Arkansas is facing backlash after he FORCED INMATES to wear NIKE SHIRTS in MUGSHOTS in an attempt jab at the company's recent deal with former NFLer Colin Kaepernick.

An activist on social media spotted the mugshots taken by the office as Shaun King posted the phots of 12 inmates wearing Nike Shirts who said the Sheriff were forcing inmates to wear these shirts to mock the company and Kaepernick

Within an HOUR, the office removed them immediately but not before it went viral

On September 3rd, the company unveiled it's 30th anniversary "Just Do It" campaign and Colin was featured in a 2 minute online spot that followed fierce backlash from conservatives who vowed to boycott the company for supporting an "Anti-American TRAITOR" in its ad.

The shirts began showing up in mugshots around September 14th according to the jail roster as the Sheriff's Department refused to return Dailymail's request for comment.

Do you think people who don't stand for the national anthem are "traitors"?

Being uncooperative w/ the police can be a dangerous proposition.

They should be able to refuse to wear the shirt for the mug shot. But in the grand scheme of things...the police at that moment have complete control over you, and it's not worth the potential risks, just to object to wearing a t-shirt.

Nope. From a outsider prospective it seems a load of horse shit that folk are expected to stand to that trash. I certainly wouldn't stand to the British national anthem too.

I don't think someone in their home watching TV not standing for the Anthem being played is a traitor. I do think a guy that intentionally on a national platform disrespects the flag laid on the casket of dead men and women (including black) that jumped on grenades for his right to disrespect the anthem while getting paid millions of dollars to play fucking catch is a traitor, especially since this guy does it while wearing a Fidel Castro and Che Guevara shirt. (That is literally the Communist equivalent of wearing an Adolf Hitler shirt while kneeling to the flag.) Fighting racism and police brutality is a good thing. But you did it while being disrespectful to your own country. Yes many troops support it, and many troops are disgusted by it. Many civilians support it, and many civilians are disgusted by it. But that's the thing, people aren't talking about ways to end police brutality. Because you've divided people, now people are talking about YOU and if what you're doing is disrespectful or not. The attention should ALL 100% be about ending racism and police brutality, therefore your platform is flawed.

What makes you think it's not going to happen? Police brutality happens all the time. Plus, prison guards beat the shit out of prisoners all the time(not federal prison guards, as they have a very good surveillance system and a good ratting system for the abusive guards, but the state ran ones and the for profit ones have guards beat up prisoners for fun), what makes you think cops do it any different?

No, I knew a girl that worked for a prison.(not sure if it was a state or for profit, but it definitely wasn't a federal one) She'd brag all the time about how she gets to beat up prisoners for fun. I have a buddy that's been working at a federal prison for over 10 years now, and he said aside from rough handling a bit for uncooperative prisoners, he never laid a finger on them. He also said that it's pretty hard for any guard to get away with abuse because of the cameras and the snitching system they have in place.

My guess is that girl was either full of shit or a horrible person who didn't give a fuck about her job. There are so many rules and laws in place that you get suspended 30 days unpaid for even being accused of abusing inmates. I work in a county jail. I work in the segregation unit. AKA the unit with problem inmates or the high profile serial killer/rapist inmates.

I've seen inmates attack deputies and they almost never win that fight (normally due to sheer numbers, they're normally smart enough not to go after the deputies who can handle themselves). But I've had inmates spit at me, threaten to rape my whole family and kill me when they leave and I still haven't beat any of them.

Again, it happens, but it's not common.

Two problems I have with believing her. 1 if she worked in a male prison they'd actually kill her if she actually tried to beat up anyone. 2 because of all the laws and shit outright bragging is a good way to get investigated and potentially sent to jail.

But I know some guys who brag about sexually assaulting coworkers. I got suspended for threatening one of them.

Private and state owned jails and prisons are regulated. They have to have a certain number of cameras and they're regulated where the cameras are aimed. The videos are reviewed every 4 months by a governing body etc.

now inmate on inmate violence, that's a whole different story. No one gives a shit about that.
