It wont cut you it will explode you on touch.

It will probably also heat the air around it, causing a rapid expansion of air upon activating killing everyone around a certain radius.

Nice

Superheated water:

But it happens in your veins and cells where your body water and blood gain so mich energy they expand rapidly and basically exploding.

You're assuming it radiates heat.

It melts through the blast doors in episode one.

The lack of blade mass would make it extremely hard to balance.

Imagine the amount of casualties it would have due to idiots turning it on while facing it the wrong way

It melts through the blast doors in episode one.

Lightsaber blades are also held to the necks of people with no damage.

The compromise on that was that a lightsaber is a beam of plasma, but surrounding it is an invisible containing force field beam that prevents damage from proximity.

Also it's a magical techno world where the crystal in a lightsaber makes sure the beam burns rather than superheats. Point is you can explain anything away about Star Wars with enough technobabble.

The lack of blade mass would make it extremely hard to balance.

A recent Star Wars Rebels episode confirmed that an activated lightsaber exerts a type of gravitational "pull" which gives the illusion of weight. In that sense it's not too light for the untrained to use effectively, it's too heavy.

The fact that the light saber has a limited reach is also a joke.

Why shouldn't it extend on into infinity like a laser and eventually disperse?

Battling a nearly infinite blade like that would be SOOO much harder.

Oh there's a BS explanation for that too. :)

So, you think you're seeing a beam that's travelling in one direction and stopping? No ma'am. What you're seeing is one instance of a wave. It goes out of the emitter, reaches the end of its amplitude, and then loops back into the emitter, so you're looking at a very thin loop of plasma instead of it just travelling in one direction.

It's goofballs and God bless people who spent time trying to make sense of the thing, but anything that gives me a laser sword is fine by me. :)

And how on earth are you going to create a Magnetic Field that can wrap around like in the shape of a sword without a physical medium projecting said field to channel the plasma?

At least the Tokusatsu Space Sheriff got it right when they had their literal "Lazer Blade"

Dude, I clearly can't keep this up forever. It's a lot of BS on top of BS, and I'm gonna tap out now. :-P

You do know that I'm agree-ing with you, right?

The fundamental logic of how a Light Saber works makes no sense when you try to analyze it based on our understanding of material science / engineering / physics.
