If so, wouldn't it be better if we aborted more often?

Assuming you're a Catholic and assuming that aborted babies have a soul, even at the point where they're a single-celled organism, they go to limbo. Limbo is mentioned nowhere in the Bible and is a concept created by the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages to assuage the fears of people who thought that their child who died at the ripe old age of 2 was going to hell. It's essentially a void full of nothing but the souls of dead babies, who can neither go to heaven nor hell.

Heaven would eventually be Hell anyway. Eternity is something people only think they want.

They could go to heaven so long as they got posthumously baptized.

Also Benedict annuled the concept of Purgatory.

God sure likes destroying creating and destroying entire planes of existence on a whim.

According to southern Baptists, if a child dies before reaching the age of reason (able to distinguish right and wrong), then they get a free pass to heaven, because they never had the mental capacity to accept/reject salvation

idk how other sects view it

Posthumous baptism isn't a thing for Catholicism or most other Christian denominations. Truth be told, I think that the only mainline religious group that does that is Mormonism.

Purgatory if you believe in Christianity.

Most Christian sects believe that there is only heaven and hell and that the closest thing to purgatory (paradise/Abraham's Bosom) was ended after the death of Christ.

And strictly going by what is in the Bible, the only sin that truly sends people to hell is a conscious rejection of the Savior once they are aware of their need for salvation, so children too young to understand the concept of sin shouldn't be sent to hell when they die.

Purgatory is catholic only, not protestant.
