Board 8 > has anyone watched the brit reality show "Love Island"?

So the fiance and I discovered this show on Hulu about a month and a half ago and have since ran through the first two seasons and are now about half way through Season 3 (roughly 100 episodes).

Just wondering if anyone else watches this garbage (and i mean garbage in the nicest way since I am completely addicted to this show), it also makes me feel very old.

For the first season we had to watch with subtitles since it was so hard to understand what was being said most of the time but now we have the lingo down. I now know all about making a mug out of someone or getting pied off.

I don't watch american "love" reality shows (except for anything on VH1 from back in the day (Flavor Flav, Brett Michaels, NewYork, Real&Chance, etc...), does Love Island compare to an American reality show that's on these days? When we first started watching I thought it was a lot like "Paradise Hotel" which came out in the early 2000's but that show was less about love and more about playing the game and winning the prize.

Well you are a brit, i'd expect you to see it all, I'm assuming that this is all brits do over the summer, watch this show.

Also, i really enjoy picking out whose tits are real and whose are fake. Its almost always fake.

I sadly have to admit this is almost the only non-animated TV I watch. My roommate got me utterly hooked. Any Brit with any self-respect wouldn't watch this regardless, but I unfortunately have a blatant lack of it. The rest us go up the pub, or complain about queues/the weather, or do all of those.

And yes, they are absolutely fake. Every time.

but then i go googling some of the couples and i find out stuff like Nathan and Cara of season 2 are now married and have a child and I see that Dom and Jess of season 3 are now married and then didn't even get near the end of the show together.

It just makes ya smile that people really can find love on smutty reality television.

I've been pretty invested in Terrace House on Netflix. It's a Japanese show that's also pretty dating-focused but rather quiet and slow-paced. I don't have Hulu so thankfully it seems unlikely for me to get hooked on Love Island, but maybe you should give TH a try.

The first season on Netflix is Boys and Girls in the City.

See, okay, this was my favorite trash ever and I was looking for some new trash to fill that trashy hole in my heart, so I tried watching Love Island on Hulu and it just wasn't the same. I gave up on it after a few episodes.

I wanted to give up real early but the lady was insistent we stick it out.

It gets better, but it is definitely missing the extra trashiness of someone willing to have sex with Flav.
