Yes, it's midnight UTC this year. This means contest matches begin at 8:00 PM Eastern prior to the November DST switch, and 7:00 PM EST after the DST switch.

wait does that mean the contest starts in less than an hour? i thought it was starting tomorrow I originally thought it started tomorrow as well, as I assumed "October 19th" meant that the first matches started on the night of October 19th. Turns out they're starting on the night of October 18th. To be fair, I didn't even read the contest rules until just now and noticed this piece of information on the contest rules page: A valid GameFAQs account is required to enter the Contest and to be eligible for the prizes. You must provide your real name and address via your My Account: Private Profile page. Prior to the close of Contest entries (3:59:59 PM PT on October 18, 2018, the "Deadline"). I knew about the entry deadline but I thought that they said that matches started on the 19th too. Where does it say that it's starting tonight? That would mean that the entry period closed 1 hour before the contest starts?
