Kind of sucks almost all the movies after the first one are all over the place but I'm psyched. This one looks great!

Pros:
Michael Myers was as brutal as ever, and had some of his best kill scenes
Laurie was a badass but not a mary sue
Allison (Laurie's granddaughter) was a great new character, not a 1 dimensional mary sue or damsel in distress
Great settings and cinematography
Great suspense

Cons:
some ill placed or just cringy comedy
Laurie's daughter was annoying
Allison's friends were all kind of annoying
The story wasn't the best
Laurie's dooms day bunker kinda took you out of it
The ending was pretty anticlimactic after an amazing build up

I absolutely loved it! Just saw it tonight and the more positives I can think of, really out due the minor nitpicks I had with the film. And I think thats saying a lot. I was disappointed at all and this was a worthy follow up to the first film. Anything after the first minus this one, just got too goofy and strange like with 4,5, and 6....

THIS one right here, has that perfect balance of what Micheal Myers is. Pure evil and more grounded into reality which is what I love. Yeah the kids where sometimes annoying, but its a good thing they weren't too much of a focus either. You can tell they were trying to really play it safe with this one and it shows so well. There was a lot of passion put into making it the best they can and Ive seen it done well enough in my honest opinion here. Oh, and John Carpenters music was freaking top notch! That soundtrack? Oh fuck... it was sooooo good!!!!

My biggest problem was a lack of the suspense that the original had in spades.

Except for the motion detector scene. That was awesome.
