No. The first year I lived in this house, I bought candy, but no one came. The second year, I didn't buy candy and pretended like no one was home because of the first year, but we did get visitors... I just hid in my room with my puppies until I had to wake up to get ready for work. My friend thought it was weird until I explained it to her. The third year, I bought candy again. I had one person. I gave them a bunch of candy. Regular and chocolate. I believe she was very happy. So, I just don't anymore. And try to go out of something on that night... I believe the parents are scared to let the kids go trick or treating, though. So, there are a lot of Truck or treat locations. Like on base and at the churches. So, it's usually ok...

Never had kids come by in the 8 years we've been living at our address.

Halloween falls on my weekend, so its off to the inlaws to hand out candy there.. even thou the number of kids knocking has dropped a lot over the past decade

We usually don't get many kids but I got a small bag. I have a doctor appointment for 4:45-5:45 though so I'd be missing peak time anyway.

Yea, but I probably won't get many kids.

The first year I was at my house I got like 80 kids. Next year it was 60, then 50, and so on. Last year I think I barely broke 20. If I start getting less then 10 then I am just going to keep the light off and stay in the living room all night. The way my house is laid out, you wouldn't be able to tell anyone was home unless I am in the family room (which is where my pool table is).

We spent like 40 bucks on candy to hand out five years ago and it was gone in fifteen minutes from all the traffic so now we don't bother at all

Parents think it's too dangerous to send kids out on their own. Or out at all, sometimes. In some cases, they are probably right. Either way, people don't like sending their kids door to door, anymore. And not all of them want to go out with the kids. It's also much earlier these days...
