Poll of the Day > So um... Today, something happened.

As I was walking from the school food court after grabbing a lunch that costed me two American dollars and sixty-seven American cents, I noticed that this girl from a couple of classes I took before was walking in my direction. She looked at me, and I looked at her, then I looked away, discarded the wrappings from my lunch, then walked to the library to screw around on the computer while averting my eyes from her on the way there. I went to refill my water bottle at the library, and as I was approaching the computer station, she was about to cross paths with me, but I couldn't do anything but stand in place waiting for her to pass by me (don't remember why I didn't bother hiding) and hope that I go unnoticed. But she looked at me, then said "hi"; I said "hi" back, but I'm not sure if she heard me since I normally talk so softly anyway. Anyway, I got too bloody nervous today. I just suck at talking to girls, and it makes me wonder if I will ever be able to go on a date or something. I know I've said that I'm too mentally unhealthy to be in a relationship, but I can't help but feel that learning how to talk to people of the opposite gender is something I should learn how to do properly someday. I should probably mention that I have had a crush on her since last semester (in case it wasn't already clear), and that this was a different girl than the girl in class who was always ignoring me and had better things to do than talk to me. Anyway, on a scale from one to ten, how socially inept am I? Ten is being able, and very willing to socialize on a functionable level, and one is total recluse who has no social skills whatsoever.
