As I was walking from the school food court after grabbing a lunch that costed me two American dollars and sixty-seven American cents, I noticed that this girl from a couple of classes I took before was walking in my direction. She looked at me, and I looked at her, then I looked away, discarded the wrappings from my lunch, then walked to the library to screw around on the computer while averting my eyes from her on the way there. I went to refill my water bottle at the library, and as I was approaching the computer station, she was about to cross paths with me, but I couldn't do anything but stand in place waiting for her to pass by me (don't remember why I didn't bother hiding) and hope that I go unnoticed. But she looked at me, then said "hi"; I said "hi" back, but I'm not sure if she heard me since I normally talk so softly anyway. Anyway, I got too bloody nervous today to utter anything more than a single word that might not have even reached her ears.

I just suck at talking to girls; especially girls whom I like. And it makes me wonder if I will ever be able to go on a date or something. I know I've said that I'm too mentally unhealthy to be in a relationship, but I can't help but feel that learning how to talk to people of the opposite gender is something I should learn how to do properly someday. I should probably mention that I have had a crush on her since last semester (in case it wasn't already clear), and that this was a different girl than the girl in class who was always ignoring me and had better things to do than talk to me. Anyway, on a scale from one to ten, how socially inept am I? Ten is being able, and very willing to socialize on a functional level, and one is total recluse who has no social skills whatsoever.

I'm sure many do. The thing is any advise given is simply not taken so we and the person posting said thing are stuck in a never ending loop. This is true for quite a few posters here that post 'can't get a girl' stories. I dare say I'd probably be the same way if I gave a shit enough to post my life story. I almost never read this guy's rants, but holy shit. "American dollars and American cents" lol.

I don't even know what the point is. Is he asking if that exchange was too awkward? People (sometimes complete strangers) exchanging awkward hellos as they pass by is a totally normal and common thing. I don't know how you make it over 20 years in life without noticing that

... but it's also a good quote and one that applies here. Perhaps if people didn't do the same things over and over expecting different results said quote wouldn't even exist. Don't like the quote? That's fine but it still doesn't stop it from being true and neither will it stop me posting it. Still I suppose you have to complain about something so eh.

To avoid confusion with Canadian dollars and Canadian cents. Keep in mind that we see a lot of Canadian pennies in the US which, by the way, are only worth like 4/5s of an American penny.
