Everyone was playing it. Total strangers from all walks of life were hanging out and playing together.

It was so awesome, and that experience will likely never be replicated which fucking blows.

Yeah they really blew a golden opportunity to wait until 95% of people had quit before adding new Pokmon/events

Had they not fucked up so bad with tracking and actually had stable servers, it would have kept going.

Oh, and the fact shit spawned based on population density was bullshit. I was living in NYC when it dropped, and it was amazing. Then a month or so later I ended up moving back to podunk nowhere ohio, and the game became basically unplayable with how little there was.

Sounds like they discriminate against small towns

Pokmon Go is still one of the top apps on the App Store and still has a very active community

I remember walking around my neighborhood and having a random teenager come up to me and ask if I wanted to walk around with him to try and find an arcanine in the area. It was like the most friendly time in human history.

That was going to happen no matter what though. The people who only played R/B/Y as part of the fad were going to leave no matter what

Yeah, when they got rid of the step tracker and killed off pokevision, it pretty much died.

But those first 2 weeks were amazing >_> idk if we'll ever see anything like that again

Nope

They improved it a little. Just not nearly enough imo.

I'm suburban so I have the same problems just not as bad.

Pokestops do more now which makes the few stops in your area a lot more rewarding to do. Quests let you access Pokemon you might normally have trouble finding. The weekly rewards feature legendaries sometimes that normally are only reserved for raids (and good luck doing those in a small town).

I was playing last week walking my dog downtown at like 1am and still seen someone else playing even at that random moment. We also have a discord my friends go to that has over 50 people. Gyms still constantly change hands. You guys just stopped paying attention. In fact tomorrow is a community day (I think) which means there will be well over 100 people downtown from 2-5.

There were literally several hundred, if not over a thousand, people in my downtown area playing it at any given time for the first few weeks.

There's a park nearby that had a spot you could stand in that was in range of four stops, and in the 22 years I've lived here I've never seen it as crowded as it was when the game came out. And they have a farmers market there each Saturday.

It's nice to see some interest still but it's nothing like it was.

This is just how things work though. You go through the hype phase and then it dies down. Im the type to appreciate what's happening instead of complain about what use to happen tho. Everything in OP is still happening. Just not on a ridiculous hype phase level.
