Why have this contest when we all know that either a Nintendo character or a Final Fantasy character is going to automatically win? It gets old & stale.

I'm all in favor of giving someone else a fair shake, as everyone else deserves a chance to win.

Have you seen how Final Fantasy characters have been performing so far?

Yes, an iconic Nintendo character will win due to nostalgic feelings and lots of exposure to a wide audience in the form of Super Smash. Unless a different site's community still cares about this enough to make a "joke entry" win, then it could literally be anything winning, but even that has to stop at some point.

However, Final Fantasy? I think people are living in the past every time they mention that.

I love when the consistent top characters get shunted into a legends brackets in the name of giving other characters a chance, and we still get clowns that go on about how Zelda and Final Fantasy characters always win, despite the fact that other characters have won the last two contests outright.

On the other hand, Nintendo is 14-5 on contests won or something stupid like that. Cloud, Sephiroth, L-Block, Draven, Undertale and I think that's all the non-Ninty winners. An almost 75% winrate is pretty ludicrous, all things considered.

Final Fantasy is dead. They will still get nominations but they have no hope of winning the thing.

But its definitely the case that a Nintendo character will beat any non Nintendo character (with only a few exceptions like Snake), and if neither character is Nintendo then the Square character wins, and if that fails then if the character who is in Smash Bros wins, and if neither character fits any of the above criteria then the better known one wins.

The only interesting matches will be Nintendo vs Nintendo, Square vs Square, etc.

I hate the new Nintendo dominated voting. Only a rally will save this contest

What do you mean "given a fair shake"? There's 128 characters in this bracket from all different genres and generations and companies and they all have perfectly fair, equal opportunities to go all the way to the Finals.

If they don't make it, they should have shook harder!
