I've seen a bunch of comparison videos and the X1 runs most games at slightly higher (or more steady) frame rates and higher resolutions. You could sort that out 100% legally by ripping the BIOS from an actual PS2 that you own, but doing that is beyond most people's abilities. There's a capacitor on 6/7 models that's guaranteed to leak and corrode the traces on the motherboard if it's not removed. Every single system that has that capacitor will fail. Lots of systems are already dying and it's just going to get worse over time.
