God of War was stripped of Jumping, Aerial combos, Aerial Specials, and magic alltogether and shifted focus from gameplay to collecting shinies and upgrading your gear. Combat boiled down to severely simplified dodge/parry and poke in a never-ending cycle. What's that sound like to you? Just like Dark Souls, only with about half as much content.
