Welp decided to finally play a touhou game after all these years. Decided to start on UFO with cheat engine slowdown rate by 50% and 1cc'ed normal and then beat extra with 25% rate

Also, wow shot types really DO make a difference. Couldn't 1cc easy with MarisaB but 1ccd (easy) it with Sanae with 4 lives and a bomb left. Could probably 1cc normal it if I tried.Some of the micrododging even on easy is insane though. Unfortunately I learned that 1ccing it even on easy gave you the good ending when in previous games it just gave you bad ending unless you were on normal so I spent all that time getting an ending I already got. UFO's continue system makes winning with continues even harder than winning 1cc.

So this is a thing. An all-female Saint Seiya series. I've never seen the original Saint Seiya (or as it was called in the west, Knights of the Zodiac) but I know what it's like and how much influence it had on future shonen anime. So the fact that they're making a spin-off with an all-female main cast sounds interesting. I might check it out.

Oh yeah the female Saint Seiya. I've seen the manga for it around as well. They also had a big display for it at AX. I guess it was a sign of things to come

You will be pretty heavily lost. There's a lot of important terminology and lore that you will miss regarding the saints.

Yeah you can watch it just fine, it just has nods and shit to the first part of the series, probably can enjoy it without knowing much of it, maybe read a tl;dw or something

across like 4 cours i think, you could take your time with it.

or could just watch the all female saint seiya since i doubt the story is important other than names and such which you can always look up.

Edit: I just looked up the first episode (which is subbed on youtube in really shitty quality lol) and holy crap what is this... the character design is just so bad... or maybe its just the eyes that make the characters look awful

But anyways i digress, Cal, this seem to follow its own thing set in the same universe, i'm confident to say you could watch this just fine without watching the original series.

So I really enjoyed Revue Starlight. Best girl never changed for me as the show went on and here are a few thoughts and initial hypothesis.

So I get it's fiction, but Karen falling off that tower into a pool of water should have killed her from that height... Not to mention majority of the times she jumps off something and lands cleanly unharmed or plot armored because of her transformation sequence. That's enough complaining about how that fall will probably kill you.

So my initial hypothesis once the reveal of the groundhog's day time loop was pretty much Karen and Hikari would win the audition together and perform Starlight based on Karen's determination or shine to perform with Hikari. Didn't expect the betrayal from Hikari at first, but after thinking about it before starting episode 11, it did make sense. I was expecting her to close the loop and have the giraffe send her back to London and for life to continue on just without Hikari. Karen losing her shine because Hikari left caught me off guard since she's been working for the past twelve years to get to the top of the stage just like Hikari. I predicted her to mail the letters to a London based Hikari and possibly include a ticket to see her perform and afterwards Hikari gifts Karen a ticket to her own performance with her London school by hand. I liked how they actually did the ending.

Episode 10's duet revue was pretty intense and the song made it better. It was nice to see Karen avenge her loss to Maya along with all the tandem moves between the partners. Maya's confession to Claudine in french was adorable for Claudine's reaction alone.

You gotta respect that shine.

*SPOILERS* The giraffe is the 'host' of the Stage Of Fate, but has no control over the performance that occurs. In a sense, he's sort of like a spirit of the stage itself, similar to The Fool from Kaleido Star (whom the giraffe coincidentally shares his dub VA with). The giraffe explains in episode 12 (through a rather unsettling fourth wall break, seen in the clip below) that he's essentially a stand-in representing the audience itself. Yes... we, the audience, have been the giraffe the entire time.

Yeah, I finished re-watching the show dubbed and it was pretty good. There were some unavoidable problems that always happen with anime that have a lot of insert songs (like the English/Japanese voices sounding different but overlapping due to the songs) and I never did get adjusted to Junna's unfittingly boyish voice, but everything else about the dub was great. None of the voices in the main cast sounded bad at all, which was surprising considering the inexperience of some of the VA's.

Brittney Karbowski was fantastic as she usually is (hearing her use her Misaka voice for normal Karen and her Last Order voice for episode 8 flashback loli Karen was fun because I'm also watching Index 3 dubbed), and as you saw from the clip, Jay Hickman was crazy good as the giraffe.

If you mean the girl in the pic: she's Oriana Thomson from A Certain Magical Index. She was a villain in one story arc though, not a recurring character.

If you mean the reference being made: it's a reference to the Winter War, a battle during World War 2 where the invading army of the big, powerful Soviet Union was held off for three months by the tiny nation of Finland. The USSR is represented by her bountiful... tracts of land... while Finland is the tiny button holding them in.

If you mean what I was talking about: two meme subreddits (r/HistoryMemes and r/Animemes, obviously based on history and anime, respectively) are having a meme war and posting their memes on the other's subreddit, including cheap shots at each other's fanbases.
