Seriously, why does the studio insist on using him. Why do they think daniel craig is the reason their movies broke the billion mark? It couldn't possibly be that they now have 2 giant markets in India and China could it, oh no it has to be that tool who basically hates the role he's playing at this point.

Or do they just find it cheaper to keep using him instead of doing a casting call for a younger more enthusiastic Bond, maybe someone who looks the part this time?

It's kinda amazing (in a bad way) that he's been Bond for over a decade now, and how he went from the most promising Bond in a promising reboot, to instant dislike in such a short span of time.

I actually like Daniel Craig as Bond. I refused to watch the movies at first because he obviously doesnt fit the typical Bond look. After I actually watched them I totally changed my mind.

In Casino Royale, he's a young reckless rookie who doesn't know what he is doing. Quantum of Solace starts immediately after so he's *still* a young reckless rookie who doesn't know what he is doing.

Casino Royale and Skyfall were great. Quantum of Solace and Spectre not so much. Gritty, serious Bond is fine as long as the writing is good. Dalton was a great serious Bond.

Brosnan was good too, but Goldeneye was the only good movie he was in. Well, Tomorrow Never Dies wasn't that bad I guess.

I just wish the Bond movies weren't so wildly inconsistent. It seems like every follow up to a good Bond movie is very disappointing.

Same, but that's because I played Goldeneye N64 a lot as a child and his face is right there on the box/cartridge art. I had no clue there were other Bonds before him and was slightly confused when the first Daniel Craig movie was released and he just looked off to me.

Plus, I thought Idris Elba was confirmed as being the next Bond? Or was that just rampant rumor spreading?

They really don't know what they want to do with the series at this point. Like what has been said, they wanted to do a reboot with an early years version of Bond, then shortly make him the grizzled veteran again. Even though I liked Casino Royale and Skyfall as movies, I never liked the idea of rebooting the series as it's one that never really needs one. They should close this chapter and go back to the loose continuity of the old ones.

They tried a bit going back to the old formula in Spectre, but it was still mostly bland in the way it was presented that it's not memorable. I'd say they also went into a territory that even Roger Moore's Bond wouldn't go in with that dumb twist in that movie, which pretty much ruined the whole Craig Bond series to me.

Well its difficult. Lets ignore the soyboys and tumblrinas for a second. Bonds actor must be:

- British
- have dark hair and pale skin (think pierce brosnan)
-not be part of another franchise.
- elegant, not brutal

Even Craig was a bad choice: blonde and unrefined.

Finding a good replacement is HARD. The only guy I see doing it is Fassbender.

Adding to that, right around quantum of solace the tumblr and soy population fixed their crosshairs on James Bond, as the objective of their haha! We took this away from you! Soypower! Crusade.

They want 007 to be a woman (because, people change genders all the time!), or transsexual or black (especially Idris Elba, who is no spring chicken himself), or gay.

No actor that looks the part of bond will touch this with a 10 foot pole because he will get called a white patriarchal shitlord and get sent poop bags in the mail.

Craig was bond before that soy tsunami, so he can carry the franchise for one more movie.

The best they can do now is let the franchise rest 10 years or until the soy level has been controlled so we can have another actor that looks and sounds like bond play the part

The series needs a mass overall: new Bond actor, new Bond writer, new Bond producer.

Daniel Craig has been in two good movies, but I have always held that he's the anti-Bond. He's a dull, bitter, sexless antihero. There's nothing wrong with him being an antihero. But he's meant to be suave and hyper-sexual. Craig is as suave as a rusty nail and only cares about sex when he's cuckolding the villain to prove he's the alpha male. You couldn't be further away from 007 if you tried. The cards and alcohol are also missing in action.

They've had the same writer since Tomorrow Never Dies. It's clear he was never a fan of the things that make 007 who he is. I don't know why they keep using him. Bond doesn't have to be a chauvinist. It's better to leave that in the past. But he should be classy, he should be a romantic, and his movies should have an element of fun.

For the most part, Bond movies were cartoon shows for adults. It'd be more profitable to get back to that. And if you want to be dramatic, which has served Bond well in movies like Casino Royale and From Russia With Love, be dramatic. But be Bond. Don't be whatever the hell Daniel Craig is. It's like they rebooted the series with Red Grant as the star instead of Bond.

Physically demanding for (likely) a string of movies; more than that, just overall time commitment; could take precedence over more interesting projects from the actor's perspective; will lead to a lot of comparisons between them and past Bond's by matter of fact; conversely, there's the chance they'll get typecast to an extent going forward since now they're known for being a Bond.

- gadgets (eg laser watches, explosive pens, cars with torpedoes, etc)

- Aston Martin car

- omega watch

- a little bit of humor here and there

- a sexy Bond girl. In the traditional Bond girls style, not some body positive tumblrina who refuses to shave her arm pits
