MHW is considered open world?

because it really isn't imo. It's just that there are no loading screens between zones, so everything is seamless

but yeah, i think the game is good

Just because you're trash doesn't mean you can't do great things.
It's called garbage can, not garbage cannot.

Sounds good to me. Now I just need to remember to get this along with certain other games in a week or two.

It's not really "open world" but the maps you do quests on is open in the sense that it's not several zones separated by loading screens.

And yeah, it's great.

As I understand it, it basically just replaces the zone transitions of older MH games with hallways for the sake of calling it "open-world," which has benefits and drawbacks. Overall, the game's pretty dumbed down and easy compared to prior MH games, but part of that includes a number of QoL improvements that are pretty welcome (like not running out of picks or bug nets).

Zelda was going to have the map and the item select on the tablet but then Reggie said no.

Monster Hunter World was fine, can't wait for them to announce 2 in a year, they have enough time to make another one.

it's a game as a service game. it host special events every week. The winter event is about to happen.

I don't like it because it keeps bring me back to fight the same monster for each event. (granted they did add 3 new monsters)

But it's alright . if you are a monster hunter fan the game is for noobs. if you aren't' it's a great starting place.

I prefer monster hunter gen for the switch.

It isn't, it's just way more open than it used to be.

Well, going by Steam any game is just about every genre now. I think the younger generation is getting confused TBH.

They're still zones. Monsters still only hang out in 3 to 5 areas. It's just now you get one big loading screen at the start instead of a bunch of little ones throughout the fight.

The only real pro I see is that it helps to not get knocked out of an area or accidentally move out of it since it's all connected. It's pretty nice but hot damn, is the map garbage.

You didn't like the first map?
That one was a bit convuluted you couldn't go anywhere without the fireflies, even though it's easy to see getting to the nest was awful, you had to climb up a png basically to get there

Since they aren't adding monsters it's really repetitive.
Not at the beginning though, you can probably get a good hundred hours or more before you're sick of it.

Ancient Forest was my least favorite one. And probably one of my least favorites ever due to how densely packed in a lot of it is. Yeah, having all that greenery on screenery is pretty and all, impressive feat for the consoles, but it's not fun to play the game in.

Coral Highlands has some issues with the northern part of the map, but it's still easy to understand and navigate, it just takes a long time.

The other 3 maps were amazing though and some of the best quality across the series, especially Elder Recess.

All opinion.
