NFUN 11/19/18 12:33:15 AM #1:	A topic series I might run if I feel like it. Nominate your favorite characters and later vigorously debate which would win in a fight. However, not like Mercs. Please God this isn't Mercs. Specify their source media please, between Comics, Literature, TV/Film and Video Games. Characters from each medium will be pitted against each other until a champion is chosen to face the other winners. If a character is borderline idk make a decision, and if they don't fit into any category at all I'll just choose one to fill out smaller brackets or to make interesting matches or something. I might make a bracket with some time of seeding or matches that would be cool based on half-assed research (but I'll probably just randomize it). Nominate four characters each please. Try to spread it out so every match isn't "hypergod that defies the fundamental laws of physics as we know them" vs "hypergod that defies the fundamental laws of physics as we know them even harder". Having some low or mid-carder matches would be cool. Personally I think it'd be most enjoyable for everybody involved if people's cool or obscure favorites were in. I'm of the opinion that it's much more interesting to read about the accolades of Captain Jorgleson who can take over individual cells in people's bodies written by a passionate fan than about Mr. Win who is canonically the most powerful being in every Universe, but, then again, you have people who'll nominate Hong Kong '97's theme in every VGM ranking so what do I know? The point I was making was that people got really heated in MPFC matches, because they believed in their boys and thought they were getting robbed if people voted against them. That investment can't be removed if you want discussion, and in fact can only be encouraged. It's why Mercs works at all - because people care about the dumb internet arguments. So trying to take that away from the match topics is an exercise in futility unless you want them to not work at all.
