Poll of the Day > Playing both Spider-Man and the PS4 for the first time!

Wanted to make things a little more clear in the intro post.

Like I said before, just bought the PS4/Spider-Man combo yesterday, having a blast with Spider-Man. Also Loving how I also got Bulletstorm and Yakuza Kiwami straight out of the gate thanks to PS PLUS!

Oh, and my brother/roommate has a good amount of PS4 games, including Horizon: Zero Dawn. Talk about winning!!!

Anyways, so far I've beaten fisk and did the first Octavius puzzles, and I'm currently unlocking radio towers. The more I play this, the more I keep finding to love about both the game and the ps4 controller. I love how the "start" button is basically this big block in the middle. I think it's super practical!

Anyways, gonna go play some more!

It's a bad time to get a PS4, seeing how Sony won't be showing up at next year's E3, and that the PS5 might be just 2 years away.

Almost got all the towers, and I got the vast mjaority of crime scenes down.

To that I say just as well, the PS5 won't likely won't have a few great games on it for a few years, as that's kinda the way the every gen has been for the Playstation. meahwile you can get almost all the ps4 games that you want at low prices!

Yeah, I finally had a PS3 in 2011 or 12, it was nice cause everything worth having had already released and in the special "Complete" editions as well.

How does a console stop being good when a new one comes out? Even though the PS5 won't be out for at least a couple of years yet the first year of any consoles life cycle is it's worse due to the lack of games. Even more so being as most titles will be cross gen anyway during that time. That's at least 3 years of gaming right there. Not only that but PS5 pro could very much be a thing.

Not everyone rushes out and buys the latest console because mom and dad pays their bills all while they are grabbing paychecks from the government to spend on video games.

I actually PREFER to get consoles and games late in their cycles. After all, Games are at their cheapest right at the end of a console's lifespan. Once the console stops being supported, and the games become "collector" items, the prices start going back up again.

Tempted to get that same package since the Switch doesn't have any great deal this year. Only downside is I barely use my ps3 so I'm not sure I'd be more likely to use the ps4.

Ok, I'm taking a break from Spider-Man for the rest of the day.

Did the research mission where you have to jump in the water and break barrels, them put some sort of solution or something into the water so it's no longer polluted.

I swear, I psychologically felt myself having my movement restricted when I jumped around in there. It really sucked having to feel that way after playing a game for the last 3 days where I was constantly storng and fast.

Ah well, I'll get over it tomorrow, and likely continue thinking Spider-Man is one of the best games I've ever played.

If anything, this is the best time. A lot of great games are already out and many are cheaper since they've been out a while.

Dealing with a huge backlog is easier than you think. Go through your backlog list and figure out the ones that you really don't care for all that much. Chances are it'll be a LOT of em. I did that a couple years ago and it turned to be most of em.

You gotta learn to let some games go.

What I found helpful was to take a break a from games. for a few months. You have to be away from something to miss it.

Well, my break has lasted longer than that. Haven't touched my ps3 in almost 2 years. Very sporadically played on my 3DS, DS, or GBA although I do prefer handhelds and handheld-esque systems, which is why I was leaning towards the Switch.

You misunderstand me. I'm taking cut yourself off from gaming altogether for like half a year or so. Focus on another hobby instead. For me it was Fantasy Novels and comics, for you it might be movies, or anime.

You misunderstand me. I don't really game at all. Closest I come is Pokemon Go on mobile. I'm not sure how taking more time away would necessarily improve anything.

Guess the combo finally sold out so that decision got made for me >_< I'm a little disappointed, but maybe there'll be a better deal down the road. (Plus I guess in general I had really hoped for a great deal on a Switch but that hasn't really materialized; the best offer I've seen so far is the Gamestop one which is... eh)

Got almost all but like 3 of the research stations out of the way. Of the three that I'm missing, one requires ground pound, one requires electric web, and the final one....well it just hasn't shown up yet.

I also did the shocker boss fight. He killed me a couple times, but It was pretty clear what I was doing wrong so it wasn't so bad.

Currently going afer all the Demon attack random encounters. Wish that I had a way to reduce their emp attacks because they're kinda being a pain.

Also, getting kinda sick of how almost single main mission I do, I got a few hours worth of side content to go through. Is it gonna be this way the entire game?

Man, that demon hunting was so repetitive. Yeah, spideys witticism was really funny, but there wasn't much to it. Among what felt like 100 battles, there's a whole 2 or 3 challenges, so it got old after like the 10th battle.

What's more, there were only 2 types of battles with them. Defend the police, and rooftp fight. And the big reward: spidey saying that at least kingpin loved the cit. For fucks sake!

Yeah, I'd actually be fine with that if it weren't for the fact that the demon stuff was so tedious with no moment like when you completed the kingpin turf wars and you get a call from the Kingpin from jail telling you that he's super pissed off, and he's got a special revenge plan in store for you doing so.

I didn't do the majority of the random crimes until after I had beaten the main game. So it felt less tedious to me because I was doing an assortment of Kingpin crimes, Demon crimes, Sable crimes, and escaped prisoner crimes.

Collected all the black cat idol pics, which was trillion times more fun than any of the research missions or combat scenes.

I'm at the entrance to her hideout, and I looked around for like 10 minutes, and i couldn't figure out where the entrance is. Can someone please tell me?

Ok, finally found it, thanks to my spider-sense. Got an awesome looking suit for it too! Definately gonna wear it for a while.

Like how I can fast travel all over the place now, but I keep forgetting that I could. Definitely gonna help since I straight up do not wanna do more of the random crime events.

I also got all but one of the research stations out of the way now. I'm guessing that since I don't see in on the map, that it's gonna pop up as I complete more of the main quest.

finally got to Miles, and the first time you control him. So sad.

Did the Screwball sub mission. Man she's annoying. My first instinct when I caught up to her was to try to attack her, but of course it didn't do anything. Hope I find a way to bust her later, because dear god does she deserve to be busted!

Now I'm doing the pigeon sub activity. Tons of interesting dialogue that doesn't repeat itself over and over to go along the way, and the fact that chasing them is fun stops it from being tedious, so I don't mind doing it! :D
