No because it's normally the whole point of a campaign, and you don't want to casually introduce it.
Plus I don't play in high level games. --- ImmortalityV, "I would like to kiss Icoyar to be honest in a non gay way though" ... Copied to Clipboard!

I was usually the GM, and if I were to introduce something like the Tarrasque into a game, I'd go to the trouble of either designing a new creature myself, or taking from a source my players weren't already familiar with.

I unfortunately never got a chance to play D&D in the original pen and paper format since none of my childhood friends were ever into it. My introduction to the D&D world was actually the PC RPG Baldur's Gate. I have played a lot of D&D video games since then, but I have never played pen and paper D&D. I always wanted to try pen and paper, but I don't personally know anyone who does play it.

I always wanted to try pen and paper, but only knew one group at work that was full. But I went to a place that sold stuff like the books. And they have people there that play it. That was how I was able to find my group. This was within the last year. You could also check Facebook. Some people will have post to let you know they are looking for people for a campaign. --- Official King of Kings Switch FC: 7216-4417-4511 Add Me because I'll probably add you. I ran a solo one shot for a friend in middle school where I let him play a dragon and he fought the tarrasque. He won.

The closest I ever got is when I played a setting where it technically didn't exist (Birthright), but the GM liked it as a monster, so told us OOC that, at least in theory, it was somewhere out there in the world. We never heard a whisper of it in-game though (granted, none of us ever got anywhere close to being strong enough to take it on).

Never literally fought the Tarrasque, but in our high level gestalt game where we were stupidly overpowered, we fought some sort of "Dire T-Rex" that the DM later said was Tarrasque stats w/o the needing a wish to kill it part, re-skinned, and buffed w/ spellcasting abilities.
It was basically a "random encounter" on the way to the next dungeon, and it got the jump on us, so I had to spend the first round curing the other PC from a debilitating status, which also ate up his first turn. We killed it by the end of round 3, and moved on. We were pretty stupidly overpowered for a two person party.... ... Copied to Clipboard!

Chose the last option only cause my friends and I thought to try out DnD but never quite bought the books, sat down, and attempted a session. Perhaps it'll be easier to join a session at some store to get our feet wet first.

They had extra dice and did a basic run down of the rules. And I was invited to come back every week. And I did. That's how I got started... --- Official King of Kings Switch FC: 7216-4417-4511 Add Me because I'll probably add you. I'm probably the LinkPizza you'll see around. ... Copied to Clipboard!
