The first two are just flat out classics but I even have a bias for 3 and 4; the ones most people don't like.

4 is the second best one in the series

it goes

1 > 4 > 2 > 3

the problem with 2 is that its just a rehash of the first one. it doesnt really try anything new
if you saw scream 1 you basically saw scream 2. its a good movie though

scream 3 takes the comedic elements in the series to far to the point where its very hard to take a lot of the scenes seriously
the scene at jennifers house in particular was the worst part for over the topness

scream 4 was interesting as like the first scream was a break down of slasher movies this was a breakdown of horror remakes

To be fair, they try to break down aspects of horror movies in all of them in some way. Two was about sequels, three was about how crazy and supernatural things get in the third films, and yeah, four was dealing with horror remakes. I love how they try to apply those things to the plot as well.

For me, it's 1>2>4>3
Some times 1 and 2 tend to flip around but I think 1 just barely edges it out.

1 is a definitely classic. i'm also of the belief that 2 is a good movie, though the fact that it cannot standalone whatsoever (which I'm well aware is absolutely the whole point of it) does weaken it. It's much more of an "add-on" than a sequel in that respect, imo.

3 and 4 were just bad and I didn't like them. they're bad movies and their messages are way more forced. it just starts feeling...plastic-y.

The TV series? Yeah, I saw the first season and it was just 'eh'. It certainly wasn't good but I didn't quite hate it. Then I saw the first couple of episodes of the second season and was like, "Okay, this is just stupid now" and never looked back.

the tv series wasnt bad
its main flaw is that its lead character was terrible (brooke and noah were great characters though)
and that it was based on a series with really intense and exciting chase scenes yet it never had a real chase scene

The first season was subpar, tethering on corny for most of it. I was still able to give it enough of a chance to check out the second season and I just needed to see a few episodes and I was out. Straight garbage.
And yeah, the lead character sucked. The only character worth a damn was Audrey (and Noah was fine in spades). She should have been the actual protagonist. Hell, she even reminded me a lot of Sidney from the movies.

And when you really think about it, season one's plot was basically just Scream 3. Of all the movies to take inspiration from they chose the worst one.

Never cared for her, personally. I wasn't even aware they're doing a third season. I thought the show ended or got cancelled or whatever. I really just stopped paying it any mind.
