I feel like I can't do anything. I usually work in the afternoons and get off work at around 10 or so. By the time I get home, I'm too tired to play any story driven games. To make things worse, I have sleep apnea.

This wasn't an issue for me a few years ago when I worked at 4 am and got off at noon. I had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. But I was supposed to sleep earlier, which I never did. lol

I'm not happy about my schedule, but I needed a job (I work at retail). I'm sitting here with a few hours left until my shift starts and I just wish I could sleep, but I have to shower and then get ready for work. Then the same thing tomorrow. I'm just not too happy with my job.

Some schedules just dont work for everybody. Is it possible that you could move to different hours eventually at your job?

Maybe. I'll have to try in a month or so. I don't even know if I'll stick around with the job tbh. I'm going to stay there until I find another job.

It helps if your friends share a similar schedule with you. Myself and majority of my friends are the 8am-5pm type with some variants (I'm 6am-4pm) while a few friends own their own business so their hours varies and another friend has a rotating schedule every two weeks.

How likely and how often we get together or even play games together online various depending on everyone's schedule of course. One friend use to work Friday through Sunday 9pm-9am so we almost never seen him on weekends. Now he works Monday through Friday 2pm-10pm so we're able to play games with him more often but not till he's home around 11pm. Late as it is, I don't tend to go to sleep till 1am so we're still able to squeeze in some co-op.

I don't have friends. lol

I need to find a job that has a schedule that I'd like. I could go back to my old retail job. I worked from 4 am to noon.

I just feel like I have no life with this schedule. Hell, any schedule that doesn't allow me to have all afternoon to do whatever I want.

Fuck, I'm just sitting here thinking that I have to go to work soon.

In that case just shift your usual activities to be done in the morning instead of the afternoon. That's what my friend who's work 2-10pm kinda do. He'll be gaming from 11pm to 1 or 2am, sleep, maybe game some more around noon and then leave for work at 1pm.

Is there any particular reason why you can't do your usual activities in the morning before work instead of the previous afternoon after work?

Yeah, 5pm end means you have time to get ready and go out to meet the majority of adults who get off then too.

I'm also tired in the morning. Actually, I'm just tired in general. But my current schedule makes me feel very unhappy. I mean, once I'm at work things get a bit better after a few hours. But I also find it very boring. I'm still new there so I won't quit. I really need this job. And it's a great learning experience.

I think I'm going to try to get a job at my old retail job. I'm only seasonal at my current job anyways.

Getting off work at 5 pm wouldn't be that bad at all. The only thing that sucks would be sitting in traffic for like an hour. :/

I think I'm just going to work through these couple of months and see if I can work at my old retail job. I know one of the supervisor's there. Maybe he can hook me up with a job.

My day:
6:00 - Wake up
7:30 - Go to work
8:00 - Get to work
12:00 - Have lunch (Sometimes go out)
5:00 - Leave Work
5:30 - Get Home
11:00 - Go to sleep

I cram everything in that 5:30-11:00 timeframe.
I don't see why people cannot do this.
Oh wait I can, people decide to get into relationships, go to the gym and watch football.

Correct

It's helpful if you're not a degenerate vagabond that cannot hold a job.
Everyone complains about not having any free time but everyone also seems to sleep until 11 in the morning and be up until 3am. WTF is that about? Get some sleep.

I think your sleep apnea also plays a role in this. Your shift seems to be a swing shift which isnt that uncommon but many people hate it too.

This is what is commonly referred to has having a social life, and yes, having friends is a relationship.

And these are commonly referred to as personal time, although watching football can be both, just like video games.

I lasted a little over 2 years in each of my previous jobs. I would probably still be working at my old job if it wasn't for health reasons at the time. They were going to fire me because of my performance (I did not disclose what I was going through and didn't want to because everyone there wouldn't keep it private).

Anyways, I wake up between 6 to 7 am usually. I'm not like most people that wake up at 11 am or noon.

edit: oh yeah, with my current schedule, I wouldn't be able to go to the gym. I mean, technically I know I can. I'd be in such a hurry though. And maybe I just can't manage my time very well.

Maybe. I still can't tell if I'm super tired or it's just laziness. I think I'm just too tired.

I'm trying to get my sleep apnea concerns taken care of but nothing has been working so far. I have my appointment next month.

Normal hours + weekends. If you're working weird shifts, you're kinda limited in what you can do on weekdays/etc although it's still manageable especially if you hang out with other people who work weird hours.
