https://www.videogamer.com/amp/news/rumour-resident-evil-3-remake-already-in-the-works

Hopefully RE3 and CVX make it onto current gen as just HD updates.

Can anyone explain the difference between what they did with RE1 vs RE1HD and RE2 vs REmake2? I would assume RE1HD is still a ground-up remake just in the same style as the original. Fixed cameras, 2D-rendered BGs and updated 3D models. Is the difference between the two remakes significant in terms of work involved?

Not gonna lie, I only bought the original game because I thought Jill looked hot in her tube top and skirt outfit!

Resident Evil on GC was a remake of its original title. Resident Evil Zero on PS4/PC was a remaster of its original title.

REmake 1 and 2 are both built around different engines than their original titles. I think most RE3 fans would prefer a remake of the game than a remaster of the original game.

The version of Zero that came with REmake?

I'm asking because I'm wondering if doing something like what they're doing with REmake2 takes more effort and time than doing what they did with REmake. Or if they're both essentially ground-up remakes of both games.

I've seen people around here that seem knowledgeable. I'm just hoping it's a remaster, then. I assume they're much faster to make and then we could have all main entries in the series on one generation.

I prefer the original games, and they could be done with modern controls as well as tank. I'm still disappointed with what they chose to do with RE2. Hopefully we can move while aiming at least. Even in RE5 they included the fixed camera angles as an Easter egg in the Lost in Nightmares DLC. Would be great if eventually they did something like that for REmake2. The lead on the project sounds like a dick though, so I'm not holding my breath.

REMake is essentially RE1 built from the ground up. Not only the visuals redone, all the voice acting is as well. Plus they modified/added some puzzles and some new gameplay elements to make it almost an entirely new game.

Haven't been following REMake2 that closely, but it is also a rebuild on essentially the RE7 engine, just in third person as opposed to first. Don't know if they are doing any puzzle/gameplay tweaks.

RE3 will probably just be the PSN version on the PS3, but with widescreen support and maybe some smoothing on the pixels to make it look a little better.

Things are more complex than just "yes or no" things can be both, the mansion, the characters and the music are all the same as the original design with small changes in game play as well as new content and other things, it uses an updated version of the original controller scheme so it is both the resident evil 2 remake redesigns the characters, police station and music while having an all new control scheme and gameplay style altogether.

Not exactly what I was talking about.

Is that the only thing you said in that post or nah?

https://socratic.org/questions/what-does-a-1-1-ratio-mean

If one box has more butter, or a different kind if butter, it isn't 1:1.

Anyways, I understand. Like I said, I just want all the main entries in this gen and I fear that if they remake RE3 from the ground-up, that we won't see that happen.

Unless the next-gen is basically current gen, just with better hardware. Just like a PC is a PC and most games will run on most systems with proper recommendations, same can be done for consoles, as seen with X1X. The only RE games I'm missing on Xbox are 2, 3, and CV(X). And RE2 won't even really be RE2. But it will suffice until I can find a decent copy of DS on eBay. I know CV already got ported to the DC, but I don't think it was better all-around.

According to society. Plot holes aside, RE3 finished off the story great ("Zombies? Fuck it! *nuke*) and was the beginning for a lot of the great game modes we have today. Plus easy mode was awesome. "Here. Have a chest full of ammo for everything."

That's only if it sells amazingly. Fans and even newcomers loved the RE1 remake on gamecube, but until it got remastered again just recently they made no hints at all about doing an RE2 remake. They didn't even START that remake until just a few short years ago. So no, it's not that simple for them at all. They could have done REmake 2 ages ago if it was such an easy answer, but they didn't.

It could very well be another 10+ years before RE3 remake might come around regardless of how well 2 sells.

This assumes a lot about the operating expenses it would take to remake or remaster the game.

So yeah, there is no established evidence that anyone knows that Capcom will start such a project.

It makes my opinion correct. You're entitled to be wrong. The original games are really the only games.

Only reason I'm buying REmake2 is because I care that much about the franchise, but it will never go after 1 on my shelf with the other Xbox games. RE2:DS will go there.
