While I agree with you.

I dunno if I'd classify the randomizers, or the combo randomizer as a game. More like a tool to bring more replayability to and/or combine games.

I used to think my brain was my favorite part of my body...Then I realized what was making me think that!

How does the Super Metroid one work? Does it just randomize item placements? Because that seems like it could be unbeatable in a lot of cases.

It's okay, I have no idea who I am either.

Required items might remain in their default locations.

I'm right, as expected.

The maker put a lot of time in making a logic algorithm, deciding the placement of items. Every seed should be beatable without glitches, unless you uncheck that safety...

Apparently the morph ball isn't an "essential item".

Only guaranteed "essential" things are a weapon in standard Zelda mode, Uncle will always have one and the boots always being in sanctuary in glitch Zelda mode.

Everything else enters the randomizer and should end up somewhere you can get it.

nahnahnahanaha... it's not a Super Metroid randomizer or a Link to the Past randomizer

It's both! Like you can find the Ice Rod in Norfair, or the Morph Ball in Hera's Tower

Exactly, and since the first transition to Zelda can be reached without any Metroid items, meaning without the Morphball, there are many locations where it could be found, with the game still being completable without glitches.

Meh, all it did was made me never want to play Link to the Past or Super Metroid again. Turns them into a chore of scouring each game's maps while "sequence breaking" just to hopefully find an item required to actually make progress. Playing LttP without a lantern, bow, or sword, isn't fun; it's a chore.

It is not sequence breaking when the randomizer changes the sequence.

Fake Flippers and Dark Rooms without Lamp are still a sequence break in the randomizer and are something I would not recommend one to do if not speedrunning seeds.
