Buying a gift for my Dad - he likes realistic racers (Forza, Gran Turismo, etc.), so those are what I'm looking for. He's got a PS3, PS4, and gaming-quality PC.

Recommendations, PotD - go!

Gran Turismo Sport is really good.

Dirt 4 is great if he likes rally.

Not what I would call "realistic", but it uses real brand cars and has a lot of classic muscle, Driver: San Francisco is awesome.

Never played Forza but I've heard great things about it.

Onrush is kinda bonkers but a lot of fun.

He has GT Sport - not a fan of the "always online" bullshit, but other than that he generally enjoys it. He has Dirt 3 as well; he didn't like that one, so I'm not sure Dirt 4 would be much better.

Driver: San Francisco is a new one, as is Onrush, so I may just have to look into those.

If he has W10 on his PC, Forza 7 is an option. I personally despise the new homologation feature, but other than that it's still a decent game.

Driver: SF is one of my favorite racers ever, but it's kind of silly. You can do this "hot-swapping" mechanic where you can basically possess any car on the map. Makes for some really fun and insane scenarios. You can be in a race, swap from your car to a car driving in oncoming traffic, then use that car to ram your opponents, then swap back into your car to finish the race. Sounds like you can abuse it to make every race a cakewalk but there's tons of activities and challenges and scenarios all over the map. Some more difficult than others. Really fun game.

Assetto Corsa for modded in cars and tracks and lighting effects, Project Cars 2 for big range of motorsport disciplines, Dirt 4 for rally stages.

Too bad he doesn't have an Xbox 360. My current favorites are Forza Horizon and Forza 4.

What does he drive in real life? I appreciate games like Forza and Gran Turismo that have my real-life rides, BMW E36, MA61 Supra, even a Mazda Familia.

While I havent played it, I hear good things about Fast RMX on Switch. Supposed to be similar to the F-Zero games.
