First off, Libertarianism is a side and it's not a synonym for centrism. Also centrism is a side.

Second, when people mock both liberals and conservatives they're typically mocking those who have extreme convictions, which is a sign of ignorance. Those with a better understanding of the big picture see that a fully conservative or fully liberal outlook is ineffective. Saying "both sides are just as bad" is simply a more acceptable way of saying "both sides have some good points but you ignorant fucks are presenting none of them".

They've always made fun of both sides, but I have noticed they've taken on the whole "people are snowflakes/get too offended nowadays" stance, which is generally a viewpoint of older people or ones who lean conservative.

Which is a weird standpoint to have for the creators of South Park, because the show is just as abrasive, and is also still on the air.

The giant douche versus turd sandwich episode was about how most people can at first cool-headedly agree that both candidates are absurd but eventually pick one and rabidly defend them. It was a message about sticking to your convictions and not tolerating a candidate you never wanted to represent you. It was a perfect forecasting of the Trump/Hillary election.

Uh no. This season has shown that PC Principal and Strong Woman are both at odds with their overly pc beliefs. These 2 far left characters have moved towards having a more traditional relationship, and they are worried about the reactions of others, so they are living a lie. PC principal has become a little more sympathetic at least in his desire to be a father. He just needs to realize that its more important than the shame of admitting to a work place romance.

Im not sure how you are missing this.

It's South Park, what do you expect? It's going to be at least kind of edgy.
