For $2,000 you cant go wrong with New York/New Jersey for Wrestlemania weekend come April. Just under $2,000, you can see a five hour spectactular Wrestlemania from Metlife Stadium, as well as the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, RAW and SmackDown after Wrestlemania, and whatever NXT show they have, as well as an ultimate fan experience at Fan Axxess. Oh and don't forget to take a NYC Tour Guide Bus when you have a chance.

You guys could have a fairly nice stay in a place like Destin, Florida. All Florida jokes aside, its a beautiful beach with quartz sand that squeaks when you run on it and the water is a nice blue. Everything there is pretty affordable.

Anyone have particular resorts for Punta Cana in mind?

Is $2000 your entire budget or just your getting there budget?

We spent $1800 for 2 round trips and 5 nights at the Mirage Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas

We brought more spending money obviously but it was awesome

Fuck flying is expensive. Round trip to Punta for both of us would be $1000.

5 days out there would be about $1000 too.

We go to Washington DC a lot too.

There's a Holiday Inn in Rosslyn right across from the Key Bridge in Arlington VA that runs much cheaper than places in the city do, and it's a nice hotel

http://www.hirosslyn.com/

There's a metro station a block away

2k will cover museums (free), sightseeing, food (excellent food in the DC area), metro tickets, and craft beer/wine if you're into those things.

Obviously you're going to go the National Mall and see the Smithsonian museums, monuments, Capitol building, White House, etc... which is all 100% free.

The Zoo is really good and 100% free as well

I suggest going to different districts of DC every day to explore the city if you've never been there. Adams Morgan, Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, and Foggy Bottom/Georgetown are really must visits if you're younger.

You can also explore Alexandria and Arlington

Most Disney rides aren't "exciting", they are mostly memorable experiences. Rides like It's a Small World and Spaceship Earth.

They also have areas like the World Showcase which are great (better) for adults.

Itd probably be a lot easier, and way cheaper, to just drive to NYC, Chicago, Philly, etc.

All are between a 6-8 hour drive. I dont see gas and tolls being more than $300 round trip.

Then wed have a car to drive while were there, dont have to worry about renting one or ubering.

So if we left Cleveland Monday morning sometime, wed get there by dinner time. Have that night, 3 full days to explore, and leave Friday morning/afternoon.

Probably would come in WAY under 2k.

I'd second DC but to one up your hotel, I'd suggest The Pod. Hip micro hotel that can be had for about $75 a night and it's right beside the entrance of Chinatown. It also has a roof top bar, a whiskey basement(with great unique cocktails), and 50s style diner on the ground floor.

Not remotely tropical, but the only type of vacation my wife and I have taken in years and years is going down to the Smokey Mountains and staying in a cabin. For a few days you may hit $2000 with travel if you are far away but you can find some pretty good deals so might stay well below that. Hotels are dirt cheap there if you are going in a slightly "off" season, so if you plan to be out and about a lot, that's a cheaper option.

fwiw, on the big ships (oasis of the seas, norwegian epic, etc class), this is highly unlikely. you do want to be sure not to be 1 deck above the gambling/dining areas as it's loud all night

also cruises in general are kinda overcrowded for the amenities on board

I can't tell you what you should do but I would probably just use airbnb, making sure the place is "entire place to myself" with proper amenities. I'd probably also use skyscanner to monitor flight costs in an effort to find the cheapest flights, mainly because it will let you search an entire country. This of course only works if you're flexible about where to go and what to do.

That's more of a DIY approach. You could probably just get away with going to AAA and have a travel agent figure out options for you.

For driving you could go to kentucky/tennessee. Eat some good food, check out the mammoth caves, explore nashville.

If you want to fly, Vegas or LA might be good options within the continental US, and there are plenty of islands in the Caribbean that should be within your budget for such a short trip. I would recommend puerto rico but I don't know how it is now after that hurricane. I'm sure san juan is fine, but idk about other places.

Cruises are fun af.

You don't have to worry about getting sea sickness, the ships are designed specifically to minimize rolling.

The only crappy thing is that you have to pay extra for a lot of stuff (drinks are expensive, drink packages are also expensive, unless you just want to sightsee or take a taxi to a beach at a port of call you gotta pay for the excursions). They do have a lot of free entertainment though.

If you're driving I'd personally avoid NYC unless you scout out the metro system ahead of time, place is annoying as hell to drive in. Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore (some parts), and DC are great though.
